Awful experience, will not be returning. We came in for lunch, which took over 30 minutes (longer than the time it takes to cook a steak dinner). Lunch should only take 10 minutes, tops. We ordered sandwiches and kids meals. Server was new, so can cut her some slack, but even basic manners were lacking. The customer is always right and she made every excuse in the book instead of apologizing and fixing it. The food had hot spots as if it had been microwaved, plating was messy and food was falling off the tiny plates. My niece's chicken finger was hanging off the edge of her plate and it was a huge debacle to get the server to replace the chicken finger when it inevitably fell off the plate. The cheese was missing from my daughter's burger, which costs extra (ridiculous). Also, mayo for a standard BLT should NEVER cost extra. The food was pricey and quality didn't match up with the cost. I've worked in restaurants; I'm not usually one to complain. Just an overall ridiculous experience. Do...
Read moreWe were star gazing in the country and thought this place looked like a great watering hole for a pint.
Glad that thought crossed my mind because I literally had the best beer of my life here last night.
They had a Grand River ale on cask so it was warmer than typical and much less carbonated, but it literally felt creamy on my palette.
My girlfriend had the Caesar and they do not disappoint!
Not to mention the staff were super friendly, giving us suggestions on where to star gaze and what cask beer is all about.
Charming pub environment and very clean in there.
It was a great time until the cops busted in looking for us, expecting we were the car theifs they've been after for weeks.
Great experience, would do it all over...
Read moreBest Haggis dinner! We go to this charming pub quite often and always enjoy the friendly banter with the staff and the ever present owners Rich and Deb along with great beer and good English pub food. This time around, I tried the Haggis special. What a great surprise! It was so tasty! They had the best mashed potatoes as a side and the dessert...WOW! I wish I remembered the name of it. It was a traditional dessert which was a lot like bread pudding covered with a warm Drambuie custard. AMAZING! The staff is friendly and efficient and you get what you order. It's good, hardy food in a relaxing setting. One of our favourite places to eat at. Prices are reasonable too. Definitely worth the short drive...
