UPDATE....As i said years ago, this place used to be the best place for delicious food but my goodness has the quality ever gone downhill... I ordered a simple deep fried panzerotti the other day through Skip The Dishes and it was horrible. First off... it took over an hour to arrive and when I opened the box the panzerotti was literally soaked in oil and the panzerotti was soggy from soaking in oil. So I complained to SkipTheDishes and they were useless and didnt offer a refund or anything. So that food went right to the garbage. A total waste of money. So I guess San Francescos has got too big and the quality has gone way downhill. Very unfortunate because I wont be ordering anymore...END OF UPDATE..... Ok people....if you love great Italian food and fresh salads and probably the best priced pizza slices around...you have to check this place out. Their sandwiches are not only amazing but they are huge. And the pizza slices taste amazing and they are huge as well. The take out section of the store may be small but you can always place your order and sit in the back section while you wait. It is pretty far from where I live but for us it's worth the drive to get fresh amazing food. Plus we can always have our order delivered but I'm not a big fan of skip the dishes so I prefer to pick up my order myself. If you have never tried this place...do yourself a favor and give it a go. Even if you just try a slice of pizza you will be hooked. The only way this place could be better is if they opened a location in Southwest...
Read moreThe party pizza here is so cheap, huge, and delicious! The steak sandwich is really, really good, especially with cheese and onions! I’m not a big fan of the chicken or veal sandwiches. You can get a better chicken and veal at California’s. The beer is well priced, they always have sports on the television, especially during the day. The only issue with this place is the service. I’ve been coming here for years and the counter staff can be rude, condescending, and they sometimes even silence their phone when they’re too busy. They are now on skipthedishes which is great, because I can order when they take themselves offline via the phones. I once called in for 2 hours straight and figured they were closed. I had a friend on the phone who was passing that area at the time and I had him stop by San Fran’s and he reported that they were open. I tried calling again for another 30 minutes as my friend sat inside enjoying his sandwich but they never answered the phone. I went pizza-less that day :(
I still give them 4/5 stars and they would be 5/5 stars if their customer service improved. The pizza...
Read moreI bought 2 panzerottis today and 1 Greek salad. I asked for an extra sauce and was charged for it (which is fine). When the man behind the counter (who looks like he hates his job and clearly doesn't know how to smile), provided me the box with my food, I specifically asked him if the extra sauce was already in the box to which he replied yes. When I got home to my shock there was only 1 sauce when there should have been 3 (1 for each panzerrotti and 1 for the extra I paid for). However, this is not the worst part of the story. The worst part was how bland and tasteless my 1 sauce was. I have always bought from other San Fran locations and the sauce is consistent - full of flavor and delicious. This wasn't even their traditional sauce. The panzerottis themselves were dry and bland. The Greek salad was overpowered with vinegar. This is my first visit to this particular location and it will certainly be my last. I'll make the slightly shorter drive to Clayhill and Dundas to get for the sauce I pay for and also for the better quality food and...
