Pomodori: A Perfect Spot for Pizza, Gelato, and Cozy Vibes
Stepping into Pomodori feels like a warm hug on a chilly day. As I walked through the door, the smell of fresh pizza baking in the brick oven hit me, instantly making me smile. It’s that kind of place where you can’t help but feel at home, surrounded by the rustic charm of stacked wood that not only decorates the space but also adds a smoky, irresistible flavour to their pizzas.
I ordered a pizza that came out piping hot, with the kind of crust that’s perfectly crispy on the outside but still soft enough to fold. As I took a bite, the oozing juices and melty cheese dripped down my cheeks, and I couldn’t help but savour every moment. It was a delicious, unpretentious kind of joy that made you slow down and enjoy the simple things. Paired with their sugar-free lemonade, the meal was refreshingly balanced, but for those who prefer a bit more indulgence, their summer offer with beer is an equally great choice. Pomodori knows how to create those little moments that turn a meal into a memory.
After the pizza, I made my way to the gelato counter. One of the fun things about Pomodori is that you can try their gelato flavours before committing, which makes it feel like a playful little adventure. I opted for the spiced pecan because I’ve got a thing for nuts and spices, and it was like a creamy, nutty dream with just the right amount of warmth from the spices.
Pomodori isn’t just about great food; it’s about the whole experience. It’s cozy and inviting—the atmosphere feels just right for enjoying delicious food and good company. Whether you’re indulging in the incredible pizza, sampling their gelato, or simply soaking up the warm, rustic vibes, it’s hard not to have a good time here.
So, if you’re looking to treat yourself to some amazing pizza and gelato, Pomodori is worth a visit. It’s more than just a meal—it’s a little slice of happiness that stays with you long after...
Read moreMy experience was unfortunate. I don’t normally post online reviews, but I feel like my comment may at least save some frustration for people with mobility issues.
The food: I ordered a Margherita pizza online for pickup. Since I had multiple errands to run afterwards it wasn’t until much later that I discovered that my pizza was missing basil (so 50% of the ingredients list for a Margherita pizza). But I was starving so I ate it sans complaint. What was left of the pizza was unfortunately overcooked. I chalk this up to the fine-tuning that goes with the first few weeks of a newly opening business, so I was willing to le this slide.
(But!) The experience: I arrive and notice the restaurant is located in the lower level of a building. As I walk in, I do a quick scan to assess whether there is an elevator/ lift or ramp to get to the lower level (I notice these things immediately since my spouse is in a wheelchair). Nothing. I get downstairs and after being ignored by someone behind the counter (likely waitstaff who may have their hands full, but the lack of acknowledgement was a bit off-putting) I was greeted by a lovely lady who knew the meaning of a smile. She hands me my order and I casually ask if the restaurant is accessible. I needed to explain what that meant. “Is it accessible for people in wheelchairs or with mobility issues?” “No, I don’t think so, at least not yet, sorry.” was the response I got. I was thinking I was glad I hadn’t decided to have a sit-in experience as a couple, and frankly, what successful business in Moncton can operate without taking into account such a vast segment of its popultation??

Read moreThis place left me with mixed emotions. We visited at 5pm and it was almost empty. We ordered our pizza at the counter and paid and when I ordered I told the guy sit was our first visit.
The good: The place was clean and had a nice atmosphere The pizza was pretty good. not amazing IMO, but pretty good..
The no to good: First, I ordered a draft and he said he'd bring it to my table. That took about ten minutes after I reminded them. I mean come on, the place was empty and it takes 60 sec to pour a draft and walk it over to the table. If a customer says its their first visit, that should be a hint to inform them about the type service they provide - or lack there of in this case. The pizza came to the table un-cut and we had to get our own cutlery, water, etc. Once we figured out where to even get the stuff! What kind of place makes you cut your own pie! LOL They need to consider putting up a sign somewhere to tell new customers that you have to serve yourself so you don't sit there like an idiot wondering what to do when your uncut pizza arrives. Its odd that they make you pay and include a tip right when you order. Normally I base my tip % off the service provided, but in this case there is no service other than giving you an uncut pizza but I already paid and included a tip! This is just poor form and I honestly wanted to ask for my tip back because the service didn't warrant it. Lastly, kind of over priced. Almost $70 for 2 x 12" pizza and a beer with no service makes no sense.
Overall, the food was good but we found the odd service off putting and...
