We had an amazing experience at Charbonneau sugar Shack ! It's the best sugar Shack we have being so far! The Service is amazing. We arrived around 10h30am without reservation and they quickly accommodate us in a perfect spot inside of the chalet with a perfect view. The service inside is quick and really friendly. They explain us how they work, it's all you can eat and they bring the perfect amount of food all the time. The food is delicious, with three services and we finish really tasty desserts where we can use all the maple sirup we want !!! The value is just right for the amazing experience and we get coupons to taste the apple ciders and to get all maple syrup taffy on snow we can eat! After we ate, we took a small "Train/Truck" that get us to the Cider taste, which was delicious and then back to the sugar Shack chalet you have many activities for children, small animals and we could check all the Maple Sap Buckets around. They also have good products to buy in two stores, one near the cider and other one near the restaurant/chalet. It was an amazing experience and we had a fun and blessed day. The parking is FREE and they always guide you to parking.
Tip: Make a reservation and Go early if you want walk around with less people. The rest,...
Read moreI wish I could give Erabliere Charbonneau 10 stars! My family and I had a fabulous time here today!!
If you're from out of town and are wondering which sugar shack to visit, this is the one!!
We were warmly welcomed by the owner when we arrived. We took a tractor ride with a lovely gentleman, then my kids played on the playground and in the snow until our meal.
The food was delicious -- it was everything we expected! They were very generous with portions -- they explained that they don't bring too much to start so that there is less waste (although the initial portions seemed plenty generous to me), and they happily brought more of anything we asked! The pea soup, the sausages, and all the desserts (including the maple caramel) were the highlights for us. All the servers were extremely friendly and helpful. Our total including tax and tip was $CA 180 for 2 adults, 1 teen, and 1 child.
After our meal, we visited the animals, went to see where they boil the sap, visited the store, and got our maple taffy. The maple taffy was so much fun. You get a ticket with your meal, and once you're in the building with the taffy, you can have as many as you want - as long as you use a new popsicle...
Read moreI've been going to cabane a sucre (sugar shacks) for over 30 years, and I come from a family with lot of traditions, home cooking, and a background in restaurants. That gives you an idea of my level of critique.
The ambiance of this place is great, warm and welcoming and the seating comfortable. You don't feel herded like some places, and they give you a pager so you can go around while you wait for your sitting/table.
There are a few animal for the kids to see, a fire pit, and some slides on an outdoor jungle gym as well. Also they have "la tire" strip on a stick and asuch as you like.
Now about the food.....it's ok. Yep just ok. Comparing it to other places, the food wasn't a memorable meal, nor one i can boast about. It's just the typical sugar shack standard. The tourtière (meat pie) isn't a pie at all but made like empanadas, and you get the typical stuff. The service was really bad unfortunately. 3 waitresses for about 150 people. They tried there best but we're overwhelmed and my coffee cup was empty more than it should have been🤭.
The best shack I've been too food wise is by far La Kabane. Érablière Charboneau falls behind even my other favorites Constantine, and...
