La Belle Province — Restaurant in Montreal

Fantastic new La Belle Province on the corner of St Catherine and Bourbonnière. Vegetarian friendly poutine sauce. Vegetarian french fries if you ask in advance. Now for my full experience.. On my way home I passed by the new La Belle Province near my place. I've passed by a few times and noticed they have fish n chips. I honestly avoided going in because from my experience the fries and cooked in the same oil as the fish. Having had a bad week, I decided to go for a walk tonight. I saw a man who looked like a chef outside the restaurant on a break. I figured I'd give it a shot and ask if the fries are fried in the same oil as the fish. He informed me they were and I thought that ended the chapter. However when I was ready to thank him and leave, he told me his boss would be happy to accommodate me. I felt a bit shy but he insisted I come in and talk with the boss. I appreciated his kindness and was greeted by another kind member of the staff at the cash register while another was cleaning up the restaurant. I was already getting a good feeling that this place was run by a tight team. While waiting for the manager I felt like I was wasting their time, but everyone was talking with me and treating me so kindly. Then the manager came out with open ears and asked how he could help. I mentioned my neurotic french fry issue... Right away he said "no problem" and that he would be happy to make the French fries in a separate fryer that does not come in contact with anything but potatoes! He explained he used one fryer to par cook the fries and that I could order them vegetarian friendly! He also informed me that the poutine sauce is vegetarian friendly and that there are other options available. The fact that he and his team were interested in helping me honestly touched me 🥲.. If you're vegetarian, I recommend this place. If you're looking to support a store run by a great team, I recommend this place. Finally, if you like reputable fast food with a few twists to the menu, I recommend this place! Thanks for making me feel at home in a new area and thank you for making me feel...

Ok, well I went there last night for a pita/gyro and it was very tasty. The owner is a very nice and enthusiastic individual, his presence is very enjoyable. This morning i went for a breakfast with my wife. We got #C breakfast for $16.99. it was fully worth it. In fact it filled both my wife and I. The lady with the tattoos and jewelery was absolutely funny and her service was good too.

Not too many clients unfortunately (low traffic) so we pretty much had the restaurant to ourselves.

FYI my wife and I are people of color and we felt very welcomed and we were greeted very very very well. So i don't understand any of the comments concerning being ignored due to skin color.

I love encouraging spots like these in the neighborhood. So if you want to go back in time (a little) and you want a no frills place i strongly recommend this...

Gigi was the best owner that you will never find. Very funny and very courteous. Best La Belle Province out there. Very nice staff and even tho at first glance you may hesitate to go there, it’s really a reliable place that is really great with its customers. I will definitely come back...
