Le Tarasco — Restaurant in Montreal

Le Tarasco is cozy, colorful, and full of flavor. This family-owned Mexican spot in Hochelaga is all about heart … from the Spanish music videos playing on the TV to the traditional blankets used as table runners and traditional masks decorating the walls.

I stopped by during their Thursday to Sunday special this month: 🌮 $7 for 2 tacos (you pick your meat) 🍺 $7 beers instead of $9 Great deal, great vibe.

Here’s what I tried: 🌽 Pozole – A warm, comforting bowl of soup that tastes like tradition. 🌮 Carnitas Tacos – Juicy and tender with no frills, just flavor. 🍺 Michelada Pequeño – Tangy, spiced, and perfect with tacos. 🍹 Cantarito Pequeño – Zesty and refreshing, like summer in a cup. 🍮 Chocoflan – Soft, rich, and dreamy … part chocolate cake, part flan, all delicious.

The staff was super kind, the portions were just right, and you could feel the pride in every dish.

The restaurant has an ambiance where simplicity and a welcoming feel are a given. I found it very homey. You'd think you were at your "abuela's" (grandmother's) who is preparing delicious dishes for us. Very accessible on Ste-Catherine. A great find in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.

The carnitas are very juicy, tender, and flavorful. Served with grilled and nice and hot tortillas.

The chavindecas: two handmade corn tortillas with meat and cheese inside, with their accompaniments. Very tasty, especially the meat. To be eaten with guacamole. What a delight! The beef in red sauce with potatoes. The sauce is very flavorful with a spicy and smoky taste. Magnificent with the meat. Highly recommended.

Le restaurant a une ambiance où la simplicité et accueillant est au rendez-vous. J'ai trouvé ça très familial. On se croirait chez notre "abuela" qui nous prépare des bons plats. Très accessible sur Ste-Catherine. Une belle découverte à Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.

Les carnitas sont très juteuses, tendres et savoureuses. Servies avec des tortillas grillées et bien chaudes.

Les chavindecas: deux tortillas de maïs faites à la main avec de la viande et du fromage à l'intérieur avec leurs accompagnements. Très goûteux, surtout la viande. À manger avec de la guacamole. Quel délice!

Le boeuf à la sauce rouge avec pommes de terre. La sauce est bien savoureuse avec un goût piquant et fumé. Magnifique avec la viande. Fortement...

I past by 2-3 days ago & Food was Amazing & i’m actually upset that i didn’t know this place before. Authentic at 100% i think they need to work on their marketing if people started to know where this is and how to get here. It would blow up ( for now i must gate keep) the cashier/server mention to scan something but i totally forgot.. couldve got me a free Taco smh but anyways i’m planing on coming next week again ( my go to...
