Great new brewpub in the PSC, it's a bit out of the way, not the most easy access for people on public transportation but doable. Plenty of parking space though. The whole building is dedicated to community solidarity/co-op/DIY projects, so bonus points for that, especially in this neighborhood. Even though this pub hasn't been open for a year, it has a great worked in look. The bar is a repurposed bowling lane, barstools look straight out of a 50's diner, eclectic decor, unisex bathroom. Beers were totally solid, and had a good variety of styles to keep any beer geek interested. Didn't try the food this time around, but I'm sure the soups and grilled cheese sandwiches must be good. The food quality and taste can be quite different from one dish to the other. Although I really like the burritos and empanadas, the pizzas are often dry and the chips and salsa quite bland. But there is many vegetarian and vegan options and the menu is liked by kids (they have a space dedicated for them in the building for a small cost). My boyfriend and I both work around there and we’re immediately judged by what we were wearing as it wasn’t fitting into their “norm”.
