Little disappointed with this Boustan, I find that the quality has been going down lately. There was one person in front of me and I spent a good 30 minutes waiting for a wrap and a chicken shawarma plate. The portions of the sides (rice, salad, potatoes, sauce) have gotten way smaller than when they first opened and the employee was taking out way more than he was putting into my takeout dish. I asked for no hummus and got one small spoon of garlic sauce (normally when I ask for only one kind of sauce they used to put two big spoons to make up for the fact that I'm not taking both). That being said, there was definitely not enough for my whole plate and the pita that came with it. On the other hand, the wrap had no garlic sauce (I asked for it), but had salad dressing and my plate's salad had no dressing. The person in front of me in line had a similar issue and when asked by the second employee who was taking care of payment, he said that the first employee who assembled his plate didn't ask for his preference. I on the other hand, specified.
I'm not writing this to get an angry - or any - response from the owner (I noticed some touchy responses on other reviews). I simply wanted to share my opinion. I'm willing to give it another shot, but otherwise I think I'll stick to...
Read moreI must say, my first experience with Boustan was disappointing. Location 9216 Boul. Lacordaire, Saint-Léonard, QC H1R 2B7
I received Boustan’s promotional coupons in the mail. Tried ordering the "Duo light lunch Bowl” priced at $9.99 as shown on a poster taped on their front door and as per the coupon. For some reason, the cashier was refusing to give it at that price and instead was charging $12.99 plus tax. Tried ordering the “1 Pita Free when you buy 1 Pita”. Again, she refused to honor the coupon and instead charged $12.59 plus tax for 2 Pitas. I asked her, what is the point for these coupons??
This seems a little fishy to me, two straight forward transactions where they were trying to take advantage of a customer. This is not normal and very dishonest. My neighbor told me that she had a similar experience at this location.
This is not a coincidence, nor a question of training, they are purposely doing this. I am 100% certain that these are not Boustan’s normal...
Read moreI went to this restaurant today and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. I ordered two sandwiches: one chicken and one beef (the new limited-time Philly steak). The man at the counter insisted that I take both with beef, but I said no.
To my surprise, instead of slicing fresh chicken from the rotating spit, he used some chicken that had been sitting in a pan. As for the beef, he cooked it in a non-stick pan and kept scraping the pan with metal tongs to get even the burnt and stuck bits of food, until I had to tell him, "I think it's fine now."
The beef sandwich tasted awful — burnt and filled with what felt like toxic residue from the pan being scratched with metal. This place used to be great, but it’s just not the same anymore.
Not to mention the lady working there didn’t seem to care at all — she was on the phone and it took her over 10 minutes just to...
