This has nothing to do with a food review. I've eaten there before in the past and the food is good.
That being said, I went in there the other day for takeout, I asked the waitress if she had a menu for takeout, she shows me a takeout menu. I then asked her if she had lunch specials, she said yes, however, the lunch specials were not for takeout, you had to eat there. So I asked her again if I can order takeout from the lunch specials and she said no.
Lunch specials most of the time consists of maybe, soup, salads, main course, coffee and dessert. In this situation, all the waitress had to say to the customer was, no problem, however, we can only give you a soup and the main meal, nothing else, which she didn't.
In most logical restaurants you can takeout their lunch specials, however, in this restaurant, when you continue to say NO to a customer, you realize that they have no restaurant experience in customer service.
Why do they refuse a sale from a customer?? I was going to order takeout for 2 people, . I was easily going to spend over $40 dollars + tips, instead, I just walked out because the waitress said no, again.
So here you have a negative review instead of a positive review. The restaurant lost at least $40 in sales, and a customer that will order food somewhere else instead of this restaurant. All because the waitress said NO to a customer who wanted to order takeout food from the lunch specials....
Read moreWe went here earlier today on a Monday around noon for a late breakfast. Breakfast is actually served all day at this place. There was a good number of people already enjoying their meals inside. We really liked how bright the place was because of the floor to ceiling windows that wrap around the entire front of the building. The service was nice, quick and attentive with our coffees being filled before we finished them.
We ordered a construction breakfast plate and a "Bucheron" eggs Benedict plate.
Everything on our plates was very well cooked although the bacon may have been bordering on too crispy but too crispy is not that bad of a thing compared to undercooked.
The potatoes were very nice and a little spicy. They were very enjoyable and not oily.
The meats were all very good quality. The sausages were juicy and not waxy nor did they have chunks in them. The ham was actually very nice since it is thinly sliced and lightly cooked so it is a little crispy.
The beans and the creton were both of good quality, flavorful and not overly salty.
The eggs Benedict was very well cooked with a nice lightly runny yolk that had thickened slightly. The hollandaise was neither salty nor too buttery. The bagel underneath was neither too hard nor was it mushy and soaked in the sauce.
We really enjoyed coming here and we'll definitely be back. We definitely recommend this place for a nice classic...
Read moreWhere to start. We visited Montreal from Toronto and we were hoping to enjoy the sites as well as enjoy some delicious food. First off we are greeted with a big smile asking us how are day is which was a great start. From beginning to end the waiting staff as well as the owner George were wonderful making you feel as if you've known them for years. Extremely hospitable, pleasant and professional throughout our visit. We ordered some of that Montreal smoked meat we were so looking forward to having as well as an appetiser platter and a pizza. The platter was filled delicious Greek finger foods, like dolmades, most amazing spinach pies, spreads, pita etc. The pizza must have weighed a ton as it was stacked with topping one of which was the smoked meat. And finally a platter stacked with Montreal smoked meat which has to be some of the best I've ever had. So fresh, hot and juicy. To Die for. We can't wait...
