I can't believe how good this place is. They are a bit of a mix of Peruvian and Chinese, but they have thai and vietnamese food as well.
Everything is baseline "good". We had the hunan dumplings, shanghai noodles and soo gai chicken. Only complaint is they use north american broccoli in the noodles. That's it.
The soo gai was crispy, reasonably battered, and tender. The cherry sauce was real deal: runny and strongly flavoured, way more tart than usual. Excellent.
The dumplings were great. Sauce was very thick, but nicely flavoured. They were a little less substantial than other places, but they were fresh and tasty.
I really liked this place, and the locals apparently do too cuz the place was packed, and only one table was chinese clients. The rest were mexican, peruvian or salvadori. And the staff, while thoroughly chinese, speak Spanish.

Read moreDelicious chinese-peruvian food ("Chifa"). Peruvian food is so popular and know why: Peruvian culture was never scared of trying and fusion their old alimentary tradition with other cultures. Chinese immigrants are in Peru since half of the XIX century, so Chifa ( the name that Chinese restaurant in Peru have)is an important part of their everyday lives. So, this is a real Peruvian Chifa in town. The place is not so big and looks like any other Chinese restaurant in Montreal. The thing is the food here. We came on saturday, busy day, still had a good service. We asked several dishes and shared, we were really satisfied. Try the Kam-Lu Wantan, the special Chaofan ( arroz chaufa) and the Chi Hau Kay chicken. Do not miss the fried Wantan as appetizers. Of course, Inka Cola is must. We will go back several times, to try the...
Read moreIt's not the most elegant of restaurants but it's clean, food is good and portions are very generous. In Quebec most people are used to Chinese buffet style food. Le Dragon Manifique is definitely not in this style. This is a "Chifa", It's roots come from Peru South America (hence the largely Latino clientele) There is an extremely large and established Chinese community in Peru. The best Chinese food I have ever eaten was in Peru. So leave your preconceptions about what Chinese food in Quebec is usually like and give them a try. I recommend the arroz chaufa, tallarin saltado con pollo, sopa wantan, Kam lu Wantan and of course a bottle of Inca kola to wash it all down. If each person takes a sopa (soup) Wantan and share one plate of each you are good to feed at least 4-5 adults.
