WELL!Now upon first expectation the place look quite decent and since I wanted a renovated room I paid the extra. Also since I’m working from the room I told them I would need good wifi and a quite place section. The reason I came here is I needed a long term stay. So let’s get started. Upon entering the building looked run down and shabby but I didn’t look at that. I was more focused on the room that will make the difference right, but, NOPE! The room light did not work, the stove and the fridge big hole I the walls, the internet did not work and it took the 5 days for an answer. But guess what!! I was told me to leave the room by that day and remember I’m working from home from 9 to 5 so I told the concierge that when I finished work I’ll come see them but not 30 min later another agent came and told me they need the room in which I responded by saying the same thing I’ll come when I’m finished work but not 40 min later I got another one come and say I have an hour to vacate said room remember I was set up to stay for 1 month. Tell me, who can pack up all their clothes food and belonging as well as equipment from working at home in an hour. I had to call my work asked for Time off in a rush to fix what they originally did not give but they took my $1215 rental . No problem!Well that is not the end let’s continue. Now I was moved to another room which is on a second floor across another section they have. ( I have bad knees but I had to take what they had)so I continue Like I said the room aesthetically look appealing but that is not the end. The place breaks down daily and the wifi horrible. Why! Well I called the manager and spoke to him after many attempts to asked about why the wifi keeps shutting off and I was told quote on quote” the wifi is not made for professionals working here just for the average usage. “ I asked why was I not told this when I signed in since I informed them that is a necessity and I was told “ the wifi is great here we have no problems “ Ha!! Does me calling you almost daily mean a problem. Alas!! I think so. Then the phone line were not working. This took 1 half week to get rectified so I was using my cell phone not to mention when I called I was told someone’s will come check it but again . Not happening, so I just left it. You get tired after calling. Now remember, if you rent for a month and want to move before then you lose your money. This is how they get you. Well you would think that is the worst of it but no the real kicker is “COCKROACHES” yes people those thing that get into your clothes foods and can come home with you once you leave. I saw the first one and I thought that could be a mistake maybe it was a bug but no then I saw they coming out of the wood works because they started doing construction on the outside of the building which no one calls you to advised at least beforehand that this will be happening. (Again remember I’m working from home) but that’s not the end . Oh no people. I was on the second floor remember well my mother was on the first one. She found a “BEDBUG”” yes people you heard right. No this is not fiction it factual proof. I’m getting the H””L out of here and wouldn’t recommend this long stay hotel to anyone. Don’t get me wrong I’ve stayed at the regular hotel side and I was pretty impressed by the difference of this hotel but the long stay apartment is filthy and in-habitable because my experience was drastically disgusting and unrewarding. Not to mention now that I’m leaving this weekend I have to have all my stuff sprayed and cleanse before transport because like I said these things could be anywhere. By the way, when I called about the cockroaches they had a guy already on call to handle it. Doesn’t that speak volumes already. Also powder substances are on certain doors on the 2 levels. Please know that I had to tell the public because this is not acceptable when you are paying for a service. Your expected to get what you pay for. Worst...
Read moreNo hot water, my door got stuck and and the custodian had to kick it in to let me leave my room, causing the door frame to splinter, which I have video and photos of. The phone didn't work. Two of the front desk employees claimed to be managers and were EXTREMELY unprofessional and just plain mean to me. I asked for their names just to write a nice review but they treated me like trash. Four other guests were there to witness this. The ACTUAL manager (a very kind gentleman) was an angel and he was wonderful and kind enough to switch my room. He was the best hotel manager I have ever encountered. Thank you kind Sir! The woman with long blonde hair and the woman with brown hair at the desk were unbelievably unprofessional. I never received my deposit back and was promised a full refund. Which I never received. I was charged $300 and she called my room to tell me to leave. I am still owed $300. I was waiting to see my husband after his work trip, tipped everyone well and was kind and polite. My husband booked the room under his name, and when he arrived after traveling for 8 hours across the country to see me she did not allow him to enter until she finally figured out it was under his name even though I paid. I also have Autism and I explained that to the women claiming to both be managers. This is an abuse of human rights and inappropriate behaviour towards someone who is Disabled. The hallways smelled like cigarette smoke, the television did not work properly, and the bartender was extremely rude. I went to have a cocktail and she ignored me for a solid 5 minutes before rudely asking "what do you want?" While flirting with another customer, make his drinks first then took a cigarette break and a personal cell phone call before serving me. So I paid $300 for being mistreated, verbally abused, locked in a room, and being taken advantage of because of my Disability. Even though I clearly stated that I am Autistic. Regardless of my disability, the behaviour displayed by the staff was despicable. The only exceptions were the very kind and professional male manager, the kind and understanding custodian who freed me, the receptionist lady who I first met (kind and sweet with pink polished nails who checked me in but was done her shift when I left) and the lovely lady who was taking care of the rooms, she gave me extra towels and had a lovely smile. The restaurant at the hotel has unprofessional and rude staff but the food is delicious and they have fantastic cheesecake. In conclusion, I want my $300 back. And I would definitely come back if those two women did...
Read moreThis hotel is cheap and out of the way. I didn't have a horrible experience here, but there are things to watch out for.
Pros: room was a good size and included all amenities described. The rooms each have a large personal air conditioner that is fantastic. Beds were comfortable, pillows were plentiful and power outlets and washroom resources were all plentiful as well. The area of the city is serviceable with nearby Italian restaurants, easy delivery access and a grocery store. Parking is free. Transit is easily accessible with two bus routes that go directly to metro stations, even late at night.
Cons: the cleanliness of the hallways, corners of the washroom, surfaces that wouldn't be touched much etc. were visibly lacking. We plugged our toilet and the service phone line was busy nomatter what time of day we tried it. I had to go to the front desk to request somebody with a plunger and then had to wait in my room for them to arrive. It required multiple plungings and depending on when we requested help, we sometimes had nobody show up at all and simply had to wait until the following day. The room had a coffee maker but no spoons. The room had an electric burner unit but no pots or pans. The room had a closet but no hangers. The sink drain was very slow because previous occupant's hair had not been cleaned from it. I requested more towels at one point and did not receive them, ended up being easier swiping them off the back of a cleaning dolly in the hallway. Everyone in our party had to get our magnetic access cards replaced at least once because they simply stopped working, but replacing them was an easy process at the front desk. My room had a small standing-room-only shower stall with a shower head that didn't adjust downwards enough to make showering easy. Required a lot of holding my arms up to direct the water where it needed to go.
Overall the hotel is fine if you just need a cheap place in Montreal to be your sleeping pad, but it leaves things to be desired if you're going to be spending your time here. It is all about the price, and the very low price means that expectations should...
