It was my birthday on April 26th and my girlfriend called San Marzano to reserve for 4 people. She asked whomever answered the phone if they make a little birthday cake to celebrate my birthday and that person answered of course we do. Well we were there last night and at the end of the meal my girlfriend asked where the cake was. One of the owners by the name of (Gino) said and I quote.... I can't afford to do that to my clients. I can't compete with places like Prima Luna. Well after spending over $350.00, that was a slap in the face. Thank you for letting us know where to go to next time (Prima Luna) Shame on you Gino. Even a cheap Deli restaurant would have at least took out a mini cake with a candle ($5.00 worth) and make their clients happy. Firstly, the staff was friendly and inviting and you got the feeling that it was a family run business, which was great! They were attentive to customers and the wait time was not long.
Food was delicious! Ordered an entree of Calamari (cooked to perfection, not rubbery and very fresh)
Then had a pizza (margherita, very flavorful) and the pappardelle with bolognese sauce (pasta was perfectly al dente and the meat sauce melted in your mouth)
Unfortunately, we didn’t have dessert because we were stuffed and had somewhere to be.
