We were making our way across Montreal on the 40 (fun - not) on our way back to Hamilton and decided to stop to pick up some St-Viateur bagels to take home with us. I was only aware of the original location so was preparing for a bit of difficult driving through downtown. My wife was checking Maps and pointed out that there are more locations in the city. We picked the Anjou location because it was the closest to where we were. How convenient! The location is easy to get to and there is plenty of parking. It's also spacious with plenty of seating available. It's nice that they have a lunch counter and a bagel specific takeaway counter. We decided we'd order some lunch as well. I ordered a Traditional on a poppyseed bagel and it was really, REALLY good. My family enjoyed their bagels đŸ„Ż as well. Once we finished our lunch, we ordered a dozen mixed of plain, sesame and poppyseed to take home. We also ordered a t-shirt and a cream cheese spreading knife as a souvenir that we can use anytime we have bagels at home. The service was quick, efficient and friendly. It was also interesting to watch the bagels being baked in the spacious bakery as we ate our lunch. You have to visit the downtown location at least once... but, after that, avoid the driving hassle and visit another location. The Anjou outlet was great and we'll be back!

I had the pleasure of visiting one of the new locations of St-Viateur Bagel in Montreal, and it was truly a delightful experience. Their bagels are some of the tastiest in the city, and it's no wonder they've been baking them for over 65 years, making them the longest-running bagel shop in Montréal. You have the option to either grab your bagels to go or savor them on-site. What sets this place apart, besides the delicious bagels, is the exceptional customer service. The staff is not only attentive but also genuinely engaged in what's happening both inside and outside the kitchen. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that this is the best service I've received in Montreal from any food-related establishment. The bagels are always fresh, and the service is incredibly fast. Plus, there's ample parking available, which is a rare find in Montreal. If you plan to visit the nearby Costco in Anjou for some shopping, I highly recommend starting your day here with a coffee and a bagel. As the saying goes, it's never a good idea to shop on an empty stomach, so make a pit stop here, and you won't regret it. St-Viateur Bagel is the perfect place to fuel up before your shopping spree.

Here's my verdict: I think St-Viateur has the best bagel in the world. Here's why. I've tried many bagel shop while travelling but last week, I went to NYC and specifically went to St-viateur's rival as Best bagels in the world. The "Absolute Bagel" shop. I had the exact same meal at both places. Tradittional bagel with smoked salmon (Lox in NYC) with red onions and cream cheese. To be fully honest, nothing compares to St-viateur. The taste and texture is the perfect mix. Fresh every day. When you buy 6 or 12 bagels, they give you the freshest, still warm from the wood oven. Highest quality and on top, their staff was kind and very polite.

A perfect smoked salmon bagel sandwich with the perfect amount of cream cheese for a person who needed a little to pair with a lone sesame bagel (which, to be clear, is delicious on its own). The "Joe Bagel" sandwich is also delightful; it makes a nice light lunch, yet it is also a great alternative to your typical late-night sweets indulgences.

Great service from the team, and there is lots of space for groups and solo diners.

If you are craving bagels while on the road or while staying near Anjou, this location should be on your itinerary. (But don't miss the original spot for at least one round of bagel binging!) Merci à l'équipe...
