Ben & Florentine — Restaurant in Montreal

The food was average and it's overpriced for the quantity or service you get. They seemed to be understaffed. Although there weren't many people, it took over 15 minutes just to get the waitress to come to see us. Then another 10 minutes only to get our drinks. We still hadn't placed our order. When got the drinks, we were finally able to place our order and waited another 15 minutes. I specifically asked for food without meat and eggs... I still got eggs. The waitress realized that only when she was already serving it. She returned it and came back relatively quickly. Well, there was still a fairly large piece of egg in my sandwich. I mean you can still taste it...

We had to ask for extra napkins. I mean, only one napkin that came with our utensils... seriously!?

We also had to ask for a coffee refill and additional toppings. No one came to see us at regular intervals.

Bottom line is, you can get better service and bigger meals elsewhere. I was still hungry after paying 25$ for my order of hot chocolate and the main...

I’ve been here twice and it’s a super lovely location. It’s quite spacious inside. Their food is consistently good and decently priced. I thoroughly enjoyed their breakfast skillet. Their potatoes are really yummy. I also love how their bacon is not super crispy; it’s cooked just right. The menu in general is really large. Many options for all tastes. And this includes their drink menu (their smoothies are fantastic). Where they lose me is the service. It takes forever for the waitress to take our orders and then for us to receive the food. The first time I went, I thought it might be a fluke. But the service was equally slow the second time around and we went during a slow weekday morning. So this was disappointing. Not to mention, the waitress who served us the second visit was super impersonal and unsympathetic. She also never checked in with us during the meal and never refilled our coffees. She gave us a practically empty ketchup bottle too. Please work on improving speed and staff...

J’ai visité le resto avec 2 amies le 30 août 2024 à 11h am (et elles sont témoins de la situation):

Lors du paiement, j’ai tapé ma carte sur le lecteur, le son qui signale la validation de la transaction s’est fait entendre. Par contre, la serveuse m’a demandé d’essayer à nouveau car le paiement n’était pas passé, selon elle. J’ai tapé à nouveau sans questionner la situation. Le même son s’est fait entendre. La serveuse à réaliser qu’elle devait changer le papier-reçu de la machine débit-crédit. Ensuite, elle m’a tendue mon reçu et nous avons quitté le resto sans problème.

Le 1er Sept. 2024, mon application bancaire m’a signalé une double transaction venant de chez Ben & Florentine. J’ai vite compris la situation — mon 1er paiement avait fonctionné.

Ce matin, le 3 Sept. 2024, vers 9am, je suis allée expliquer la situation au resto afin de potentiellement avoir une solution. Le service à la clientèle de Cynthia, la serveuse qui a pris en charge ma requête, était DÉSASTREUX.

-Aucune salutation malgré ma bonne humeur.

-Aucune expression de compassion ou d’excuse face à la situation malgré ma patience.

-Aucun désir de vouloir m’aider (rappel que je suis une cliente AUSSI) malgré mon désir d’être flexible face à la résolution de mon problème.

-Cynthia parlait en anglais avec sa collègue devant moi en pensant que je ne comprendrai pas, et à confirmer que ma situation semblait « fishy » malgré la présentation de mon reçu et mes relevés bancaires.

-Cynthia a dit aux clients que je lui faisait perdre son temps ce qui m’a mis extrêmement mal à l’aise.

-Cynthia a dit que personne ne pouvait m’aider. Pas de superviseur ou gérant. • (Donc, aucun superviseur pour une journée complète de service? Alors, qui ouvre/ferme les caisses et/ou compte l’argent pour le coffre-fort?)

-Cynthia a pris mon numéro de téléphone et à dit que je vais « peut-être » recevoir un appel de « quelqu’un » à 15h … • (Donc, laissé en suspens sans confirmation que le resto va essayer de m’aider)

•• Le problème: Le principe du Service à la Clientèle. Il y a une manière de recevoir un client poliment, écouter ses demandes, s’excuser du service si tout problème est survenu, et lui offrir la meilleure résolution selon nos capacités. Si la situation dépasse nos qualifications, référer le client à un superviseur ou l’autorité adéquate est la prochaine étape.

Le manque de respect et professionnalisme de Cynthia est choquant.

C’était ma première fois chez Ben & Florentine (Anjou), c’était ma DERNIÈRE fois.
