Vincent Sous-Marins — Restaurant in Montreal

I finally managed to make my way here and immediately ordered their steak submarine and small classic poutine. I've had a bookmark here for the longest time!

The ordering process is kind of neat with this establishment employing waitresses in a casse-croûte style of joint. The service was very kind and helpful. We had a few young children with us and they accommodated us nicely.

After 10 minutes our meals were served and I literally destroyed my steak sandwich as I was famished. The submarine was very good with high quality fresh ingredients. My only qualm was the bread being too small to hold it all together. I hate needing to cut my subs into smaller segments or have it risk being ruined with needless spillage while it is being transitioned from the plate, to my hands until its final destination... my stomach. The quality of the bread must be better and my favorite subs are those with bread made with potato dough for extra flavor. Either way, it was pretty good. Typical as it gets.

The poutine itself was between good and very good. A staple of classic casse-croûte style poutine found in many local institutions across the province.

The price tag is average for this type of cuisine.

Very unsatisfied with the service. Ordered online to be called 30min later to find out that the order was not placed due to an issue, repass the order to wait another 1h30min to finally think I have my order but, well guess what not my order. Called the restaurant back to say they messed up the order and to be rudely told that it's not her fault and that my order was sent to another place and was being picked up by another delivery person and sent to my place. I'm sorry but you don't do that. Food is something that you don't just ship around door to door, especially in a time like this, so I demanded for a refund and was told it was not possible, and then finally after 10min on the phone I was told the driver is going to give my money back. In summary no compensation was offered at all and a rude attitude towards the client. Sorry but not ordering...

This place is just a mere shadow of its former self. The quality and quantity have decreased drastically but the price almost tripled over the past 20 years. Ordered twice within a month and both times were extremely underwhelming : my friend had the tortellini and the portion was laughable for a $20 dish : he even wonder if this is really a Vincent. I ordered lasagna and pizza, both were expensive but mediocre taste with small portion. Unfortunately, this place is done for, I wont spend $40 for a large pizza that is not even better than a 2 for 1 pizza for the same price.
