We Desi is a Sweet Haven for Food Lovers, a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of Laval. From the moment I stepped inside, I was enveloped in the warm aroma of freshly prepared sweets and savory delights. Their Roshogolla an Kheerkadam stole my heart and transported me straight to the bustling streets of Kolkata. And if you’re feeling adventurous, try their colorful flower shaped sweets. The commitment to quality is evident in every dish. Whether it’s the melt-in-your-mouth Roshogolla or the delectable barfi with its delightful stuffing of dry fruits, saffron, and cardamom, We Desi doesn’t compromise on taste or ingredients. The menu boasts an impressive array of sweets and savories. The staff at WeDesi redefine hospitality. Not only did they patiently listen to my son’s whimsical requests (he’s quite the little food critic!), but they also promptly brought him his heart’s desire. Their warmth and genuine care made the experience even more memorable. They offer elegantly crafted gift boxes filled with an assortment of sweets. Whether it’s a celebration or a heartfelt gesture, these boxes are a delightful way to share the love. WeDesi is where tradition meets innovation, where every bite tells a story. Whether you’re a seasoned Bengali sweet lover or a curious food explorer, this restaurant is a must-visit. Kudos to the team for preserving the essence of Bengal’s culinary legacy!

The place is nice and cozy. The staff is knowledgeable about their menu items and were happy to answer any questions we had. The food also came very quickly, however, my guests and I didn't get our drinks until halfway through our dinner nor was our water jar ever refilled (our table still tipped $20). The taste was bland, lacking in flavour. The momo tandoori was very soggy, felt as if they microwaved it. The spicy paneer roll was horrible. It was filled with way too much sauce and the sauce just didn't go with the paneer because it was too sweet. The water for the pani puri had no taste. The vada pav had not a single drop of spice in it and the chili they did give was burnt and tasteless. It's a shame that the food quality was this low, I had been excited to try this for a long time. On the other hand, their sweets are amazing and they sell them at a great price!

If you’re looking for a great vegetarian dining experience, We Desi Restaurant is a fantastic choice. I recently visited and tried their Tandoori momos, Amritsari kulcha, and Dahi bhalla, and each dish was absolutely delicious. The momos were crispy and flavorful, the kulcha was perfectly stuffed and paired well with the chole, and the dahi bhalla was soft, fresh, and well-balanced in flavors. Next, The sweets! Every dessert I tried was outstanding, with just the right amount of sweetness and authentic taste. Beyond the food, the ambiance is inviting and well-maintained, making it a great spot for both casual dining and family outings. The staff is courteous and attentive, ensuring a pleasant experience from start to finish. Must visit place if you are in Montreal.💯

I am very happy to have found this restaurant so close to home! I have tried numerous Indian restaurants in the past few years and most have disappointed with bland and similar taste - lacking originality and probably using low quality, pre-made spice mixes (I say this because I have also tried to cook with those spices and noticed the similarity).

WeDesi is a whole new experience! While I used to prefer non-vegetarian Indian food, I have now come to love the vegetarian dishes offered here and feel like I'm on a culinary journey every time I eat at this restaurant.

I have tried numerous dishes and my absolute favorite are their curries! Every single one I've tried is well-balanced and bursting with original flavors! My best choices are the Palak Paneer and Dal Tadka. The Chole Bhature is also fantastic and tastes very fresh! Rasam was a fiery, flavorful and most unique experience, having never eaten that before and it had an instant positive effect on my whole body, one has to try to understand! Naan bread is very tasty and balanced. Paranthas are all delicious and each type offers unique flavors! My whole family, including kids, are crazy about this food. We are not Indian and for a 9 year old to eat so much of this new, spicy food and to ask for more, it means that it's really good!

The sweets are out of this world! They use real ingredients and make them right! I have also tried other Indian sweets shops and really prefer the freshness and original flavors of the WeDesi ones! They do not skimp on quality. For example, I was eating Gulab Jamun and inside there were specks of real saffron. The first time I tried them, I asked for the young man's recommendation and he chose many delicious and different sweets that everyone enjoyed, even my mom who is conservative and  not a fan of foreign cuisine!

Inside the restaurant, the decor is modern, clean and authentic! Staff is friendly and attentionate. Sometimes they are very busy and wait times are long, but I don't mind, given the quality of the food. Everyone wants to eat there and it's understandable! Once there was an error and it was most generously corrected, apologies were offered.

My only real complaint is that the prices are not updated on the website menu, which was a bit confusing at first and might deter new clients.

All in all, I can honestly say that this is one of my top 3 restaurants to eat at. Congrats to the chef and to all the people...

The food is not terribly bad. Its just below average. Vada pav is not really the best. Its just some veggie patty in a bun. The ambience is good. However, the food is not really memorable at all. Its like someone is cooking the food just to do his/her job. Other indian restaurants in Montreal atleast have few best dishes which stand out. We Desi does not. Rabri falooda was another disaster that I ordered. I was given 3 spoons of falooda in a big glass cup. The cup was almost empty. It even looked horrible. This cost me $7.99. I was not happy at all. When I asked the cashier, why they served so little, she casually replied, ' Sir, rabri is expensive thats why.' So I was thinking why even keep it on the menu? Do you think we cant afford more rabri? Why serve customers 3 spoons of dessert for $8? I could've a tub of chocolate ice cream for $5 which is atleast 20 times the quantity which you served me! I have had rabri falooda many times elsewhere but never EVER was I served this little. What enraged me even more was her casual reply. Atleast she could have apologised and corrected the mistake. But she refused to do so. I can go on and on but this is just not acceptable. If you have the freedom to decide whats on your menu, why put on such a shameful dish on the menu? Overall, this restaurant seems below average in food taste and quantity. Step 1 to improve the restaurant would be to replace all the chefs immediately. There are many customers who have cited in the reviews bad food taste and quality. We were excited to try Indian food in this restaurant and even drove 1 hr to reach here only to be...
