Staying in Morden and Winkler for a few days, I had to check out the local restaurants. A couple recommended this place for me and I was not disappointed! First off, if you are looking for a typical pizza joint, this is not the place for you. The pizza here is Mediterranean with unique ingredients and flavourful tastes. But this is not the only reason to stop by and enjoy this wonderful restaurant, it's the vibe of the place and how you feel welcomed. It's very laid back with cool pictures and colours so as you sit and eat, you just enjoy the food even more. But my number one reason for loving this restaurant is the owner, Sheila. Hearing her story of how she came to Canada in the 70's, married later on and had a family, and add the all the different types of restaurants she has owned, made me realize again why I love supporting local so much. Also keeps me in check of how small Manitoba is when I found out one of my best friends worked for her back in the 80's! It was our first visit to Leparq and we invited another couple to join us. When we first walked in, we were a bit surprised by the simple, small town diner feel, as we had expected something a little bit fancier (not exactly sure what that was based on). It didn’t take very long to get comfortable and appreciate the warm vibe in this little authentic pizza place. The menu is fairly simple, but the choices looked amazing! We started off with an appetizer of Crostini, which had beautiful presentation and tasted amazing!! We ordered two pizzas to share between the four of us. We ordered the Meatball Margherita and the Roasted Mushroom. Again…the presentation was fantastic and the sourdough crust was perfect!! The flavours on the pizzas were amazing and well thought out! We had our wedding rehearsal dinner at Leparq Pizzeria. Not only are the owners & parents (Hi Sheila!) just the sweetest, the appetizers, salad and pizza we had were outstanding. The flavours and varieties of the pizza were delicious, it was piping hot and you could tell the quality of the food is outstanding. Don’t sleep on the salad either – that dressing was so yummy! Our server for the night, Vanessa, was so sweet, amazing and attentive. They were extremely accommodating to our party of over 25 people. We came to this restaurant based on their reviews and it definitely did not disappoint! We look forward to revisiting next year when we return to Morden for our wedding anniversary.
