I loved it! I ordered via Ubereats the butter chicken, the paneer chettinadu, some idly, some samosas and naans.
The meal arrived very quickly and it was still warm.
Let me start with the naan. It was kind of small, and not really fluffy (not sure whether it's because it was due to the fact that it was wrapped for delivery). It tasted good and I think there was a hint of spice, which was really nice. To my opinion, the naan was a little on the pricey side for $2 each.
Next, the samosa: they are really good, savory enough and very fragrant. The filling is like many other samosas I tried before: potatoes spices and green peas. The tamarin sauce is a must as the sweet and sour taste enhances the flavours. Worth the $4 for 2.
I really liked the idly, but not really the sauces that came with, but it tasted amazingly well when eaten with the butter chicken and the paneer chettinadu (not sure whether this is an appropriate way of eating it - someone should let me know if that is an incorrect practice). It's a bit sour and very bouncy, a pleasant texture. The portion is more generous than I thought, so it's worth the try.
The paneer chettinadu is very spicy. I am usually tolerant with hot chili, but this chettinadu got me a heartburn, yet, I couldn't stop eating it because it was simply so delicious. Portion is generous and really worth it.
The butter chicken was the star of the evening. I have a toddler who is somewhat a picky eater, and let me tell you, that child asked me for more after having a first lick! Generous portion and absolutely worth it.
Overall, a very good experience. I'm not sure how authentic it is, but I really like that they use a generous amount of curry leaves (if I'm not wrong) which gives a great texture and flavour. One other thing I have to mention, the butter chicken and chettinadu are not as oily as other places I've tried, yet they taste better.
I realized that I forgot to take pictures halfway through the meal, but you get the idea how good it is 😅
Definitely one of the greatest places for Indian food I've tried in Greater Montreal and I look forward to ordering...
Read moreRecently, I had a highly unpleasant experience with one of their female employees who works at the front desk.
A few weeks ago, my wife called the restaurant to place an order for a few items. My wife typically asks many questions to ensure that we order only fresh food to prevent allergies in our children. and she used to order in the same way since they opened this restaurant few years ago. However, for some reason, this employee didn't appreciate all of these questions. When this incident occurred, I advised my wife not to call the restaurant and order again.
A few days ago, I placed an order and went to the restaurant for pickup. When I was about to pay for my order, she started speaking to me in a threatening manner, saying, "Go and tell your wife to order properly next time, or else the matter will become serious." I replied, "You may receive calls from different customers, and they may ask various questions. If you are unable to answer their questions, please speak to your owner and follow their instructions. You shouldn't speak to customers in this manner." She had a very bad attitude and wasn't willing to listen to what I was saying. She kept insisting, "I will not speak to my owner; you're the customer, so I will only speak to you."
After all the arguments, I realized there was no point in continuing the conversation, so I attempted to leave. However, she spoke a few insulting words in the local language without showing any respect.
I'm not sure who gave her permission to speak to customers in this manner. If she's acting on her personal capacity, then she doesn't deserve to work in a customer-facing role like this.
I am not against anyone. I am posting this review just to ensure that this doesn't happen to anyone else. Please make sure to educate your staff on how to interact with customers in a respectful manner. After experiencing all of these incidents, do you think we will place an order again?...
Read moreThis review is for the Brossard location. Overall very disappointing when compared to the cotes des neiges location.
The one positive... portions are pretty generous and we have left overs. I just wish the food was as delightful as the Cotes des neiges location.
I should add that I ordered from uber eats and I am not sure if this contributed to the soggyness of the Manchurian dish...but the batter is so soggy upon delivery that we had to remove it which really sucked because I was looking for the crispy sweet, sour and spicy kick you get with Indo Chinese food. My husband thought it was the fat from the chicken :( falling off and he was like remove it!!!! The overall flavor is there ( needs less salt) but the texture is a fail. Maybe this item should be removed from the uber eats menu given the texture issue.
The samosa chaat was not as flavorful as the cotes des neiges location..missing the sweet, sour, salty combination...the only thing you get is excessive heat ( too spicy)...I recommend giving a side of tamrind sauce and this could possibly help.
The naan is store bought and flat...not thick and fluffy as a fresh naan and, the butter paneer was...
