We spent a couple days camping in the area for the 1st time. Wasagaming is a beautiful place in the fall. We found many shops had closed for the season and ended up finding Tge Buffalo Bar @ the Elkhorn resort. Happy we did. We went for a late supper on a Tuesday night and had wings and frys, everything was delicious, the salt & pepper wings were hot and crispy, delicious! We had dipping sauce on the side and everything was great. Today we went back for breakfast...I had a Hangover Burger and my wife had Huevos Rancheros on soft tacos. No I was not hungover but I will admit my belly might have hungover my belt a little after breakfast...so good. Both breakfasts were plentiful, flavorful and wonderful...lol. The service was good, but the staff were busy for sure, our waitress was pleasantly & cheerful and a good host on both visits. The atmosphere and the large windows, great outdoor back drops and cozy dining room made us think a winter visit to Elkhorn Spa & Resort might need to bucket list thing...

We arrived at Elkhorn resort after driving most of the day. We rented a chalet but we’re too tired to make our meals so decided to do take out. My girlfriend and I both ordered burgers. When we got back to our room we found that the buns were stale and also burnt from the grills down the meat was burnt as well. When I called to let them know the bartender who was taking the orders advised me to come back and get new buns. Our chalet was at the end so I had to drive back to get them. When I got back to the room I found the new buns stale as well. After talking to the manager they agreed to refund our meal. But the way this was handled in the first place was wrong. They should have replaced our meals and brought us new ones. If we would have been in the restaurant I wouldn’t have paid. Warning. Check your food before you take it out and hopefully the manager will continue with quality control. I may come back to the resort but I won’t eat from the...

I really hate to do this and I’ve never left a bad review but I really had a terrible time here.

For context, my husband and I came for brunch on a Sunday.

I will preface this by saying the food was actually okay. There was nothing wrong with how our food came out.

However, the service was exceptionally bad. Our server missed the mark on basically everything. She got our food and drink orders wrong. When the food came out she asked if we needed anything - we asked for more drinks and some ketchup, neither ever came.

After she brought the food, we never saw her again. We had to interrupt her to get the bill. Given that we ended up being there for about 90min we each would have had a couple of drinks but never had the opportunity to do so.

Maybe it was an off day for her but the service was so bad that I will not be back and would encourage to find breakfast elsewhere.

Also, it was the worst caeser I’ve ever...

I want to preface this review by saying the staff at the Buffalo Bar are doing their best, and are working hard in the midst of a major staffing shortage. You are allowed to order via phone or at the restaurant and take any meal back to your room. Our first dinner, we had the Baked Truffle Spinach dip and it was delicious, our favorite menu item during our stay. The Chicken Korma was also quite good. That being said, I think our palletes may just be different than the restaurant cooks/chef. The pizza sauce and and Dragon Bowl which we had our second night both had a weird taste we couldn't place. Their Classic Caesar as well could do with some more liberal saucing. Overall, if you have other options during your stay I'd say take them.

Despite an incredible stay at the Elkhorn Resort, the Buffalo Bar certainly takes advantage of the fact that they’re the most (and only) accessible restaurant for guests. We dined in for dinner, had room service as a part of our package for breakfast and opted for take out the following evening. Breakfast was delicious, as were the maple bacon boneless bites and burgers. However, the restaurant is quite overpriced for what you get. Pictured is one of our two take out burgers. Our bill was well over $50 for two burgers and fries, and nothing else. This is what we received. I’ll be back at Elkhorn but will do my best to avoid the restaurant.
