There is a young man who works the take out window, who refuses to use good business manners when taking customer's money. On the first occasion when I prompted him about 'please and thank you' being part of good business, he told me that if I didn't like his rudeness I could order elsewhere. I asked to speak to the manager who agreed with me that manners are an important part of customer service. The manager completed the transaction using good business manners. On the second occasion, when I got to the take out window, the same young man first told me he just wanted to go home, then asked for the money. Again, no manners, no please. When I reminded him about saying please he said, "Not this again". Then he called his manager who once again completed the transaction using good business manner. The young man is very unprofessional, gives the business a bad name, and clearly appears not to value either his job or customers. McDonalds must be desperate for employees or otherwise this young man would be taught the good manners are an essential part of good business and customer service. I can only come to the conclusion that McDonalds does not value customers or they would deal with this rude, entitled, unprofessional young man who doesn't seem very bright. He is an embarrassment to the company. Despite my politeness he just...
Read moreI would have given negative stars if I could. By far the worst experience at MacDonald's in all Nanaimo. This wasn't the first or second negative experience at this location, but the THIRD. I ordered two Ronald MacDonald chocolate chip cookies and a vanilla cone. I get to the window and they hand me a sundae cup of vanilla ice cream. I said No... I ordered a vanilla cone. I've learned to ask for a VANILLA CONE, because if you ask for an ice cream cone they will try to give you an iced tea. Then they handed me a bag with the cookies and I looked inside, not chocolate chip cookies but double fudge brownie. I don't like the double fudge brownie cookies. Again I said No, I ordered chocolate chip. They said they were out of the chocolate chip....but they didn't tell me that and they tried to substitute the cookies. They had done this to me before but I didn't find out until I got home. I gave them the cookies back and they tried to hand me a sundae cup of ice cream again. I said No, I ordered a cone. Then a manager came to the window and I asked her to cancel the whole order. She put the refund on my card but only for the cookies. They finally brought me a vanilla cone and it went from the lady's bare hand to mine and our fingers touched. Not a gloved hand, no napkin ..... COVID protocol? " Would you like some fries with...
Read moreNo hello at the drive thru terminal. First words are 'are you collecting points?' No idea what she was talking about since I'm not a regular every day visiting customer like they assume every car is. Fries were cold and soggy. No hello from the person at window only communication was shoving an interac machine in my car window without even turning his head. Next window again no hello or eye contact. First words before i even got to the window were 'pull around building' as if i had been there a hundred times and i knew the procedure. I stopped and then asked for ketchup and mcchicken sauce. She handed me a was of mcchicken sauce without even looking. So i had to ask again for ketchup as she didn't care enough to see if she was giving the customer what they wanted. It was almost a 'here, take this that'll get them moving to the waiting area. Horrible service. Horrible food which is strange because it's difficult to get fast food wrong. I only stopped there for a snack out of the blue. I initially wasn't going to because I remembered my last sub standard visit to the McDonald's drive thru but I thought I'd try again. This last experience just confirmed that the service is beyond saving and the food is still prepared with as little attention to...
