Building looks awesome. Interior design is not common because of a wall that divide the eating area and where you order. Not too bad as it cuts the noise a bit so you can have a conversation. Place is really clean as even employees were cleaning during downtime. Some were sweeping underneath the tables where there was people still sitting, à la McDonald's. I ordered a Triple Bacon poutine. A bit on the expensive side but then again, this is not a cheap "fast food" joint. It's higher quality food say like, Pita Pit vs Subway. Now the food part. Layers and layers of bacon and cheese which was a surprise because the presentation was pretty bland. I ate in and still got the take out container. Sauce is good, maybe a tad salty, then again this is a poutine, what would you expect? Cheese is awesome. Bacon was amazing. Fries are kind of unique to that place but they were excellent. Food was hot. Overall, a nice place to go for higher quality "fast food" but maybe a bit costly to go often. Again, I use fast food in quotes because it's more on the verge of a restaurant. We decided to switch it up and get fish and chips instead.
The fish was huge. And very filling. Im a big dude and could only eat 1 piece and my fries.
As a former cook the fish was not cooked right. The batter on the fish was dark in color and seemed to be over cooked. (Burnt)
Once eating the fish you could tell it wasn't properly cooked on the inside. The batter between the top layer of batter and the layer next to the actual fish was not cooked and mushy.
This made the fish taste soggy and like soup
2 reasons this happened. Either the fish was too over battered or the deep fryer was turned up too high. Making the outter layer of the batter burnt without cooking the inside batter part.
I assume the fryer was too hot and cooked the outside batter too much so the cook removed it but the inside batter and fish was not done.
I brought it home and ate 1 piece the next day I airfryed the other piece letting it cook longer and tasted better like it should of been

Read moreI love this place! The quality and quantity of food are great for the price and the menu covers a range of preferences. Lots of parking and the staff are polite and personable. But their hours are so short! They close at 2100 despite being next to the boat club/boat launch. If we're off the water at sunset, the restaurant is long closed by the time we get there. Three times we've hoped to grab dinner on our way home, but it's 2120-2140. The other issue is waiting for your meal. You place your order and pay (it asks for a tip although you have yet to be provided with service/food) and you're given a number and wait. There's nowhere really to stand while you wait and the seating nearby is usually taken up by diners. The bulk of the seating is behind a wall, out of earshot of the counter. The length of the wait isn't too bad though. I really recommend checking this place out; it's a much nicer experience than the other restaurants in town and is way, way better than the fast...
