V&E’s Chopsticks — Restaurant in New Glasgow

Very unassuming chinese place. We are so happy to be coming Sunday where they have buffet (Sat and sun) we got here late after the lunch rush and it is clear that they have many options still available on the serving station. The food was definitely different from other Chinese buffet place. While other place have homogenous food on their serving buffet table - a lot of their dishes are more Asian region personalized (maybe the Thai influences). I love their fried thin noodles! It's flavorful due to the seasoning (i think i detect lemongrass in their cooking). Even it is after the lunch rush and there were not that many people around, the manager proceed to make fresh food - which there are many selections to choose from. The food was already good so we told him not to go out of his way but he insisted saying that he sent the order to the kitchen.

We are so happy to be dining here - after being in Cabot Trail where it's all about seafood, fries, poutine, more seafood, fish and chips (I am somewhat allergic to shellfish and I really cannot put fries or poutine in my mouth even tho I love them dearly - and to have such good unique Chinese buffet in New Glasgow is...

UPDATE: In response to the owner's reply; the food was bland. The beef with broccoli and the general tso chicken are horrible. The pieces of chicken were oddly small and the breading was falling off the meat. The sauce on the general tso tasted like water down sweet and sour sauce. Beef and broccoli is a staple of 'Canadian Chinese Food', but the dish here is served with a sauce that smells and tastes like some of the ingredients had gone sour. The flavours are not consistent with the standards one would come to expect from these dishes, but due to lack of options in the area, they're often the only option.

The restaurant has great customer service and it’s a staple of the community, but as someone who’s had great Chinese food in many cities, I was so disappointed with my order. I came because of the high reviews, but discovered on pickup that they offer payment to customers for positive reviews. Any business that offers payment for good reviews is intentionally deceiving...

I have been working out of town here for over a month and everyday I go out to eat I eat here I have not been anywhere else around newglasgow. The first time I eat here the chef came out to ask how my meal was and the second time I was here he came out to say hello and ask what I was having, I asked if he could recommend something for me to try and every single meal I have had here has been mind blowing and I have tried many things, my favorite being the Cantonese style vermicelli and soup dumplings.
