Edit: The owner replied to this review asking me to email them with details, then would not reply to the emails (even after repeated attempts). It's unfortunate that some owners pretend to have their customer's best interests in mind. Dropped to one star.
I really wanted to enjoy this place as I've eaten at one of the HRM locations frequently. I gave this business some time to get comfortable and 4 visits, and have consistently been let down. Order accuracy, portion size vs price, and food quality are atrocious. Because I have food sensitivities I get fries with my orders, and the fries have been the worst fries in the area all 4 times. The fries are covered in black spots, are mushy and oily (low frier temp or old). The prep area is a zoo with seemingly no process whatsoever leading to consistent mistakes. I eat-in and the amount of errors is almost unbelievable when busy. The employees are friendly but have a hard time hearing requests for whatever reason. The protein quality seems low as perhaps it's precooked hours in advance? I appreciate you bringing the business to the valley but please work on these things. I feel like the money I've spent at your location has been an utter waste. I'm normally not a whiny person and frequently eat at the usual "low quality" fast food joints and am happy with...
Read moreVery disappointed. This is not Lebanese food as it should be. I ordered a shawarma box and it was filled 80 % with rice that was Luke warm, the chicken was so dry and horrible - yet on the spit in the back there was plenty of juicy chicken. The staff member loaded the “sauce” on it which is horrible in itself. I watched to see what the overall experience would be. The food is not being kept in proper containers for the food to be in the very least wam. Also ordered was the vegetarian box. The falafel is salty, the rice was dry, the cabbage and veggies were dry. To the owners of this business - you have a demographic that doesn’t really know how good Lebanese food can be. Your food is like the Mc Donald’s of Lebanese food. And to your advantage - people don’t realize it. There is a place in Ontario that blows your chain out of the water. It’s called Tango in Ancaster. No one will hold a candle to him. For all the rest of you….head downtown Halifax for the real deal, specifically Mid-East Food Centre or other places… Not a place I will recommend you go to. **And tell your staff to focus on taking care of the customers - not gossiping about other...
Read moreFood was tasty- a bit stiff on portions of chicken.
But the service ....
There were 10 employees working that I counted. Yet my box of rice sat on the counter for 15 minutes awaiting chicken and garlic sauce. I thought they were out of chicken or something only to see a girl return from a 15 minute break and look at my order, walk away, and then 5 minutes later come back and put chicken on it. If I had known the chicken was there I probably would have grabbed it myself.
I think it's worth mentioning that the guy behind me in line was an employee on break who was promptly served before me despite ordering a while after I did.
It's very sneaky the tip is at the beginning... Because if it was at the end I certainly wouldn't have tipped. I actually would have walked out had I not already paid.
Next time I want shawarma, I'll just kayak to Lebanon. Will take about the same...
