Perfect night with the perfect people 🥰🫶💕
We happened to be at one of the most magical places in Alliston this past weekend @gust.alliston
It was two of my family members birthdays and we got to celebrate at such an amazing spot! The food was out of this world. The ambiance, the people, the music, the FLAVOURS! This was definitely a night for the books.
We all got something different and sampled each other’s plates because… well we couldn’t resist.
The EMPANADAS ARE A MUST! Order extra just to take them home… seriously 😅💕
The house frites were UNREAL! Cooked in duck fat and seasoned with thyme, black garlic, maldon salt and the truffle aioli 😘👌
I don’t remember the name of this drink but it was delicious, fizzy, a touch sour and it had a mini bottle of Prosecco… how could you say no 🥂✨
The risotto was not your usual typical risotto, but I thought it was incredible. It had yellow barley, giant corn kernels called choclo and a truffle manchego cheese melted on top. I do love risotto, I thought it was phenomenal. The scallop was melt in your mouth✨👌👌👌
The grilled Moroccan octopus was so beautiful, perfectly cooked, the sauces were the perfect balance of spice, tart and creamy 🐙
The special was braised short ribs with a cauliflower mash and sautéed rapini… Bomb 🔥
The steak… you CANT go wrong especially with chimmicuri sauce.
The desserts, phenomenal. Nothing we tried wasn’t good. I just wish it was closer to home.
I celebrated my birthday at Gust and dinner was amazing! The service was great, our server was such a jewel, she helped my sister stow away my birthday cake and then bring it out to sing happy birthday, and then she still brought me a sticky toffee cake because I was just so excited to read it on the menu when we first got there. I only tried one cocktail, I had the vanilla espresso martini and it was maybe the best espresso martini I've ever had (maybe). I had the grilled octopus with duck fat potatoes and honestly the octopus had amazing flavour with the olive emulsion, the potatoes were not the star of the show. My mom had the black cod with jerk seasoning and some kind of coconut rice that was insanely good. I could drink that sauce that was on it. My husband got the burger and it was massive and very tasty, so if you have a picky eater on your hands, they'll still have a good time. Speaking of picky eaters, my two younglings had the mac n cheese and honestly I'd even recommend it for adults! It was so creamy and cheesy, I might get it for myself next time. Oh my gosh, I don’t even know where to begin. When we first asked the owners of our favourite spot, Gust, if they happened to cater, we fully expected them to say no — being a smaller place, it just seemed unlikely. Well… it was not a no!
Not only did they cater our wedding, they absolutely exceeded every expectation. They were communicative, flexible, and genuinely passionate about giving us exactly what we wanted. They did multiple on-site visits to make sure everything would be perfect.
Ours was actually the first on-site wedding they’d ever done at this scale — 173 guests — and it was phenomenal. The cherrywood smoked brisket, wild mushroom risotto, and chicken supreme had everyone raving. For me, the biggest thing at a wedding is having truly incredible food, and Gust delivered in every possible way.
I am over the moon with how everything turned out, and I couldn’t have done it without them. What an amazing company. If you haven’t been to Gust Restaurant in Alliston yet, make a reservation soon, I promise you will not be disappointed!
