Everyone can claim that this place is the best in town but honestly, it's just a less corporate and less spacious Boston Pizza in terms of how painfully average it is. Wing night is pretty much the only reason I still eat here and that's because beer and wings are discounted to the price they should be worth.
-Food/Menu-
The food is usually bland or watered down and they keep discontinuing the only interesting options on the menu. As of writing this review it will have been about 6 months since discontinuing some items and they still have not updated their menus to reflect the changes. Speaking of the menu - it's fairly overpriced for what you get. Expect to spend at least $30 for just a meal and a drink, $40-50 if it's a steak. Adding an appetizer is usually going to add another $15 to the bill.
-Service-
The wait staff can sometimes be inattentive and some of the girls in the bar can be downright passive aggressive. That's not to say there aren't a few good ones but it seems like some could use a vacation or a raise.
-Atmosphere-
The decor is nice and feels modern and clean since the last renovations but without any kind of echo canceling foam or panels near the ceiling it can get overwhelmingly loud in the bar. The restaurant is better if you want a more quiet experience.
-Conclusion-
In general I don't usually recommend The Blend to people based off of my own experience with it. I'm fairly sure it continues to get business mostly because when comparing it to most of the run-down crapholes in the battlefords, this place looks like a five...
Read moreNormally, I enjoy Blend, but tonight was a complete gong show. Waited at the door for a good 10 minutes before I was acknowledged. By that time, a lineup for pick up had formed. 4 different servers came at different times to collect names, and by the 5th server, we all just said we'd been helped. I ordered a lasagna with tomato sauce and cheese bread sticks. Got back to my car and saw that the lasagna was with meat sauce. As a vegetarian, I definitely was not going to be eating that. Went inside to get a new one, while my cheese sticks remained in the car to get cold. A server took it back and came to talk to me and offered me 50% off. Problem is, I had already paid, and she asked who I paid. The lady who I paid came around the corner and said she would deal with it. She asked me to bring my cheese sticks back inside and then took them back to the kitchen. She brought my cheese sticks back out and asked what the problem was. You tell me. You asked me to bring them back. Lasagna came out and offered me $10 cash. Very nice of her, considering it was not her fault. Got back to the car, and cheese sticks have no tomato sauce. Great!! She was quick to help me, and I was on my way. Get home. Dig in. And the garlic toast was not toast at all and was so unbelievably salty. Good thing I have cold cheese sticks. Eating my lasagna with tomato sauce and chunks of hamburger are in the tomato sauce. Very...
Read moreWe arrived at the restuarant around 6pm tonight, seated right away. We waited about an hour for 2 ribs & caesars and an order of chicken fingers, fries and house soup. When we asked the waitress why it was taking so long she claimed the restaurant and kitchen was super busy. There was MAYBE 5 tables. 2 bigger parties were starting to arrive but had their own waitressing services helping them including the bar. Our food was warm but definitely had been sitting for some time as my fries were cold. She did not offer any dips just left a couple sample packs you would get at DQ or KFC. For a higher up/fancier place I would expect MUCH better service. Even the ketchup bottle that I finally received from a seperate waiter was maybe 1/4 full and I had to remove the entire lid to get the ketchup out. I dont feel we will be returning. I also think it is ridiculous that the drink menu is on a QR code. Even soft drinks and non alcoholic are not shown on the menu. Our son was not sure what he could order nor was the waitress helping by giving options by saying what they have to offer. We felt very forgotten about by...
