The Flats Eatery + Drink — Restaurant in North Battleford

North Battleford location November 1/2024 Poor service tasteless food I had ribs and steak and husband had baby back ribs. I found food kinda tasteless. Did not get asked if my husband wanted a 2nd cup of coffee and it took forever to even get the first cup. First off when I got my salad I asked for oil & vinegar for the dressing I was brought vinegar packets lol after I mentioned what I wanted again then was brought out the right thing. Waiter got both orders wrong but fixed it right away. I found waiter not friendly kinda rude. And for some reason he kept calling my husband hay buddy none stop. My husband found that uncomfortable and weird. When I went up to pay I did not give him a tip because I feel like he was not friendly and messed up order even though he did fix it. I did comment to him that we would not be returning. His response was excellent lol we left not saying anything else. Nether my husband or myself was rude at anytime. We just packed up what food we did not eat then went and paid. He did not ask us why or if he can fix it. In fact he did not care. In my opinion for a restaurant that has been only opened for a month not a good start. We will not be returning. So much I can say about this place! First, Crystal. Our server, who only works Tuesdays and Wednesdays went ABOVE and beyond her duties to serve our family for my father in laws 80th birthday meal. I truly mean this. She was great and a huge part of my 1st impression. I've been looking for somewhere to eat a great meal in NB and now I've found it.

Secondly, was the food. Not only served hot and fresh and tasty, the salad was prepared very well and was topped with fresh ground pepper from the mill. Although it was just the starter garden with blue cheese, it was great. The main meal for me was the 10oz Ribe Eye and I wasn't disappointed. It was cooked to perfection. Everyone's meals around the table were delicious. Salmon. Alfredo. Pork cutlets.

The atmosphere was quiet and our table was the large family table on the southside. At the end of our meal the staff allowed us to bring in cake, Crystal added sparklers and even began singing happy birthday to our old man. How great is that? Like, really!

Went to porta Bella’s a few times. Decided to give The Flats a try. Pretty busy when we arrived. Ordered 2 diet cokes got to rye and cokes, I haven’t drank in 6years, good thing I looked at the glasses and made my boyfriend try his drink. Easy mistake server apologized that’s not the problem. Ordered a 10oz Ribeye and the all you can eat ribs. Started with the Caesar salad, very bland, dressing was much better when it was porta Bella’s. Food came rather fast. The steak was very thin and under whelming. Now the ribs were far from fall off the bone, very very dry and barely any meat, I ordered another quarter in the hopes they would be better- I was wrong got maybe two forkful of meat off of the refill. So disappointing. Spent over $120 there and stopped at McDonald’s on the way home. Won’t be going back, which is sad. Montana’s out does this place with their steak and ribs- at least the ribs at Montana’s do fall off the bone. And the steak is a healthy...
