Just encountered a very unfriendly and impatient cashier. I understand that with the sneeze guard in place and the mask wear that it would be hard to hear people’s orders. But there is no need to be impolite about it. Could have said “I’m sorry, could you speak a little louder? I couldn’t hear what you said” instead of “you’re speaking over there when you need to speak over here” in a really impatient voice.

I work in customer service so I know what it’s like to not be able to hear customers’ orders but I would never shift the blame onto the customers.

Also, it feels as if I was only treated poorly because of my race. I wish I could say it’s the first time I’ve experienced discrimination but it’s not so I am very familiar with how it feels and what it looks like.
