EDIT: Went from 5 stars to a SOFT 3. A GENEROUS 3. Not sure what the deal is lately here but I’m FRUSTRATED with this place. Last time we went, it took AN HOUR AND A HALF for our food to arrive at our table and when it did, it was so poorly presented, undercooked, and lukewarm. This time, they were sold out of every dish I asked for. I asked for three things, and finally the last thing I asked for, was available. Like… what? I’m actually extremely unpleased with this restaurant at the moment… I had really high hopes but ever since I posted the first review, but I doubt I’ll be back for a very long time. Not to mention, they only staffed ONE PERSON for the ENTIRE PLACE on Sunday… No, Im sorry, that’s unacceptable and outrageous. I genuinely feel sorry for the ONE STAFF MEMBER on the floor, they were running around doing everything with a smile on their face when they should have just quit on the spot. That’s not okay to have one person man the floor like that. Treat your workers with a little more respect. Overall, Temple Bar, you need to figure your stuff out, get it together, and make some real improvements here because I’ve just left with the most bitter taste in my mouth from my last two experiences. How many more chances can I give this place before I give up? Looks like this was it. Congratulations, you’ve basically lost me and my families business, and I can’t say I’ll be singing any kind of praises for this place ever again. Bummer.
Don’t even bother reading what’s below, honestly. Find another bar to go to, don’t waste your time.
Well isn’t this just THE spot? I went for the first time recently, I’d put off going because someone told me it wasn’t that great… I will never be listening to that person again, they had no idea what they’re talking about and they were dead wrong. The atmosphere is that of an old school English pub, moody lighting, that kinda thing; however they’ve got a few HUGE T.V.’s above the bar which brings a modern feel back. I got the club wrap, my dad got the wings (THAT COME WITH FRIES!!!!! This is honestly such a big deal, most places have wings but they don’t come with fries, so you end up ordering a basket of them and eating a few and it’s a waste (of money and food), but not here!!! THE WINGS COME WITH FRIES AND THATS JUST NOT TALKED ABOUT ENOUGH!) and we split the spinach dip. Club wrap: 9/10, could have used just a SMIDGE more sauce, but it was LOADED with bacon and chicken, the right amount of everything else, absolutely terrific, would order again, Wings: 9/10, crispy, hot sauce was delish, comes with fries as previously mentioned, wonderful. Spinach dip: 10/10. Immaculate. Creamy, huge portion of it as well with the right amount of chips and pita, gooey cheese melted on top, and just enough spinach so that it’s not just greens and a little cheese, just enough for a perfect bite each time. Our server was Jocelyn, and she was terrific as well! Super kind, attentive but not so much that we were even slightly annoyed, and informative. Jocelyn, you’re a star!
Definitely gonna be a...
Read moreSt Patrick’s Day celebrations at an Irish Pub… We made a reservation based on the website that stated the entertainment started at 4pm I have been to this pub in previous years and enjoyed the Irish themed entertainment, … We got there promptly at 4 and it was a full house with an irish dancing group finishing their performance… obviously it had started well before 4pm. We were seated at our reserved table which was towards the back of the restaurant and from that vantage we could not see the performers. We ordered our Guinness and asked to have 20 minutes to decide on food. I didn’t get our server’s name but she was very good . The food , ( my husband had chicken wings..I had potato skins and green salad .. the wings were recommended but they were meh) however, was mediocre. The hot food was hot, yes… but the flavor was just ok. The green salad was fresh and tasted good . The next performers were a duo of musicians who proceeded to play rock music, ( Steeley Dan, Pink Floyd) for a half hour set. They were quite good , but it certainly not Irish music, which we expected considering the occasion. We were told by our server that the next band was also going to be rock music as well. Disappointed, we settled our bill and left. Our friends who we had met there in previous years and who had returned as well, also were settling up to leave. All things considered, it was not what we hoped,...
Read moreFor the second time I had to plan a celebration of life for one of my parents. Back in 2018 when Sarah was managing the location our event went as smooth as it could.
On September 10, 2022 as we had pre arranged a celebration of life for my mother who had recently passed we encountered one of the worst experiences and awful persons I’ve ever dealt with.
As we filled that building with paying customers far more than what would be seen on a regular day/week, we had Nigel sit with my brother and myself. We toasted to my mom and he expressed how happy and grateful he was and how it is good for their “family” pub.
Shortly after that the owners son the (manager)Dominic came up to us and told us in an assertive manor how they just lost one table due to it being too loud. I’ve never felt so disrespected by a manager in my life. The way he handled the situation was hands down the most disgusting behaviour I’ve ever seen in a manager of a “family” pub. I truly hope he learns better customer service one day. I hope he learns compassion and grace.
Never will I step back in this place again after years of going year from their first opening, to holding two celebrations of life and countless...
