Β Β Β Read moreWell, after reading some of the other reviews here, this seems to be a situation where, once again, others have had stellar experiences while I got the short end of the proverbial stick. I'm not huge on fried chicken. It's nice maybe 2-3 times per year, but otherwise find it way too taxing on the old system. I'll stop there and let you suss out the rest. Now the Popeye's Chicken in Burlington seems OK. The staff are friendly and the food always seems fresh - if it isn't when you order, they'll tell you and make it up fresh for you. But THIS location on Kerr Street.... what a joke. I've been twice in the past year and those two visits will be the only time they see my money. The last time I went, it was at about 1:30pm for a late lunch. The lunch-rush was over, and I was the ONLY CUSTOMER in the store. Unfortunately, I had to wait at the cash register (waiting to order) while the owner and one of the employees had a heated discussion about god-knows-what. So I stand there like an idiot and wait for them to finish up. They keep arguing. I try to imagine what it's about while I look at my wristwatch. Finally the manager comes up and asks what I'd like to order. I made the mistake of ordering their chicken strips (or whatever they call them at Popeyes - they're chicken strips, let's not try and fool ourselves). Instead of making them up fresh, they pulled five old hard strips out of a warming tray and that was what I was served. They were hard and near-inedible. Sadly I didn't realize this until I had left the premises, otherwise I'd have tossed the little basket down on the counter and challenged one of them to try and eat one. Horrid, and a waste of money. Won't be back. Crap's bad for...
Β Β Β Read moreI enjoyed my first visit to Popeyes! The service was terrific, quick waiting time, and the food is pretty good! Itβs definitely a better fast-food restaurant and one great thing they do is provide you with lots of ketchup & Louisiana Hot Sauce, free of charge! The menu has an okay variety, specifically relating to chicken but the Menu doesnβt show everything available, at least not on the main adverts listed on the screen! It was pricey, a little more than Mcdobalds, Burger King & Wendyβs! At the same time, itβs only a couple dollars more and compared to other mid range level or rare fast food chains from the U.S that arenβt as numerous or closely reachable compared to the usually suspects! Thus, overall, I liked it and I will get it again! The building itself including layout, seating and atmosphere needs a makeover but at the end of the day, thatβs one of the least important variable on the list! If you like spice, their Buffalo Chicken options, including things like boneless wings and chicken sandwiches! I would recommend giving it a shot, you might find a meal that is your absolute favourite, you never know! Lastly, the fries are really good and you actually feel full after a meal, unlike a meal at McDonals, for example the McChicken Meal! Go check her out and...
