When leaving Thunder Bay and going west, this is the perfect spot to get coffee and other hot drinks, with a nice side order of great tasting cookies. Staff are friendly and understand service, but it is local and friendly! You feel like a person has treated you like a person.
The washroom were in good order, and that in itself us welcomed. This is perfect for a small family, because you know after 30 minutes on the road, someone will need to use the washroom!
I reward myself by stopping because my coffee cup us empty, and I too could use the washroom. I also use this has a reward for the little ones in the back of the vehicle. You get great behavior from them because they want to see this place with the unusual name. That buys you 30 minutes of good behavior,. Let the little ones choose the dessert, but they have bags of cookies for sale, and a dozen cookies like that and a chocolate milk. You have bought another 30 minutes of car quiet. I would buy two bags or ample desserts / treats because there won't be anything else of this caliber until Dryden.
Good times on the road begins with good beginnings, and I would incorporate this stop as standard when travelling West for...
Read moreWhat a great cafe! After camping at Kakabeka Falls, we stopped here for breakfast. According to my husband (who tends to be very picky about his coffee), the Colombian medium roast he ordered was smooth, strong and hot just the way he likes it. I ordered a Maple latte...YUMMY! Not too sweet with a hint of maple (not overpowering). On to the baked goods... the butter tarts were very tasty. If you like sweet with a buttery, rich crust... then you will love this delicious treat. I also ordered a rhubarb scone. It was moist, buttery and not too sweet. My husband ordered a cinnamon roll (he's picky about his cinnamon rolls too) and enjoyed it tremendously. Next time we're in the area (we're Texans), we will DEFINITELY visit this lovely cafe again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND the...
Read moreReturning to Metropolitan Moose Beanery & Cafe felt like coming home. Last summer, their coffee and wraps won our hearts. This visit, it was the ginger snaps - crispy, perfectly spiced, and dusted with fine sugar, they were unforgettable. The cafe itself, with its chalkboard signs and retro vibe, wraps you in warmth and charm.
A special shoutout to the wonderful lady who gifted us freshly baked ginger snaps; she’s a true baking fairy. The Metropolitan Moose isn’t just about great food and coffee; it’s about moments of joy and comfort in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.
To anyone looking for a place that feels like a warm hug, this cafe is...
