Barakat is hands down one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of dining at in London, Ontario. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and the enticing aroma of freshly prepared food. It’s clear that the team here cares deeply about both quality and customer experience.
Food: The food is simply outstanding. Whether you’re a fan of shawarma, falafel, or more traditional dishes, Barakat excels in every category. The chicken shawarma is juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection, while the falafel is crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Their hummus is creamy and smooth, with just the right balance of garlic and lemon. If you’re looking for something special, I highly recommend their mixed grill platter — it’s a feast of succulent kebabs, grilled meats, and vibrant sides.
Portion Sizes: Generous portions are a hallmark of Barakat. Whether you’re ordering a wrap or a full meal, you will leave fully satisfied. The portion sizes are perfect for sharing, which makes it an ideal spot for families or groups of friends.
Ambiance: The ambiance of the restaurant is casual yet cozy, making it a great place for both quick lunches and relaxed dinners. The seating area is clean and inviting, with comfortable seating and a layout that never feels too crowded, even during busy times.
Service: The service at Barakat is exceptional. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always ensuring that your dining experience is top-notch. Even during the busiest hours, the service remains prompt and efficient. If you’re unsure about what to order, they are more than happy to offer recommendations.
Value for Money: What truly sets Barakat apart is the value. You get high-quality, authentic Middle Eastern food at very reasonable prices. Whether dining in or taking out, you’ll find the portions more than worth the price. They also offer great combo meals that let you sample a bit of everything.
Overall Experience: Whether you’re a regular or a first-time visitor, Barakat is a must-visit in London. The combination of authentic flavors, generous portions, friendly service, and reasonable prices makes it a standout spot in the city. I can’t recommend it enough — if you’re looking for fresh, flavorful, and affordable Middle Eastern food, Barakat is the place to go!

Read moreI’ve been obsessed with Barakat for about 4 years now since developing serious food allergies and not having many options left for eating. Even though I’m a Londoner I hadn’t heard about them before. I always order the beef Kafta (hamburger texture) because I’m not a shawarma fan, but all the people I’ve introduced claim it as good. I usually wash down my meal with a inflammation fighting mango juice, it’s sweet but balances the blood sugar. Too sweet for you, add a couple tablespoons of water 💦 and ahhhhh!
Yes, I’m responsible for bringing all my foodie family and friends over as fans, my cousin literally posted about Barakat on his FB last week no lie! I also bring my dates there, as the newly designed eating area upstairs provides a nice and comfortable ambiance with that gorgeous chandelier. As an event planner, I recommend this place for hosting your events with quality food, tastes great and nothing is greasy ever!
I grew up with Lebanese and Assyrian style food made by some amazing women, so I do crave that authentic homemade taste. Barakat, hits home with that in everything they make, right down to the best GARLIC PASTE I’ve tasted in my life! The recipe should be patented imo! Only prayer, is that they add beef dolma (rolled grape leaves) to the menu one day to clean up as the best restaurant in the whole city 🙏🏽
P.S I post in support of this place changes and all, not just for sweet Amena’s dedication, but because I love the food. This place kept me from starving during my school studies and has saved my insides from pain. I’d even buy stocks and pursue franchising if it was an opportunity! Go ahead and...
Read moreMy brother picked up a combo plate 2 with no tomatoes for me. While making this he made it clear he wants no tomatoes multiple times. When he brought the meal home, there was tomatoes but no cabbage in the meal. I called the restaurant to inform them of this. My intention was for simple acknowledgement and nothing further. I was met with severe agitation and unprofessionalism from the employee who answered the phone. He suggested that it wasnt a big deal and that 16$ for a combo is not a lot of money and that is the standard price for a combo anywhere. I made it clear that it is not the price of the meal but rather a matter of getting what you paid for. I felt the reply frankly insulting. 16$ is more than an hour worth of work for any minimum wage job, essentially an hour that someone is giving up of their life in exchange for that money. The restaurant is in no position to say that this is not a lot of money for anyone and the tone in which it was said by the employee was very unfriendly. Me and several of my colleagues have noticed issues with this Barakat before however I have never said anything. In this situation a simple "ok, we will try to make sure it doesnt happen next time" or "sorry" would have sufficed however the rude behavior of this establishment was very unprofessional and disappointing. I suggest the management address this issue as part of good...
