The Crossing Pub & Eatery is a welcoming place with commendable customer service and a good selection of beverages, both in terms of pricing and portion size. However, the lack of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu is a significant shortfall. For non-meat eaters, the only available option is salads, which are underwhelming and not worth the price.
In today's diverse dining landscape, it's crucial for establishments to cater to dietary preferences and restrictions, including vegetarian and vegan diets. Expanding the menu to include plant-based options like vegetarian burgers and pasta would not only attract more customers but also enhance the dining experience for those seeking meat-free meals.
Recommendations:
Menu Expansion: Introduce vegetarian options such as:
Vegetarian Burgers: Made with ingredients like chickpeas, lentils, or black beans, offering high protein content.
Vegan Pasta: Featuring plant-based sauces, fresh vegetables, and vegan-friendly proteins like tofu or tempeh.
Training Opportunities: As a chef, I am happy to assist by sharing recipes and even visiting the location to train your chefs. Preparing vegetarian and vegan dishes is straightforward and can add significant value to your menu.
Why This Matters: According to market trends, the demand for vegetarian and vegan dining options is growing rapidly. Adding such items not only makes the menu more inclusive but also positions the restaurant as progressive and customer-focused.
In a Nutshell, Crossing Pub & Eatery is a great spot with potential to cater to a wider audience. By incorporating vegetarian and vegan dishes, the restaurant can diversify its offerings and appeal to a growing customer base. I encourage the management to consider these recommendations to improve the dining experience for vegetarians and vegans while maintaining the high standard of service that is...
Read moreWhat happened to this place? It used to be a cute date night spot and now it's not even a good sports bar. Came for dinner with my husband tonight and we both left feeling super awkward. I live with pancreatic disease and can't eat certain foods, so I often remove a lot of the good stuff. It can be life or death if I eat too much fat in one sitting so I need to be especially careful. Anyways they brought me my food smothered in cheese, which if I didn't check would have 100% sent me to the hospital. They took it back and my husband started working on his food (because nobody wants to eat cold cheesy seafood). He finished eating while I was still waiting, and when they came to remove his plate he ordered another beer. It never came and wheb they dropped my remade sandwich off they zipped away super fast without checking in even though he was trying to get her attention to order dessert for himself and remind them of that beer. So now he's just sitting there watching me eat with no beverage... They didn't come back until I was done eating, at which point he ordered dessert and cancelled the beer that never came anyways. After all that, I asked for the bill, pulled out my card and was holding it out, and she hands the machine to my husband. He passed it back to me and I smiled and said that it all comes out of the same account anyways, because married life... She then says, "I'm happily divorced. It's great." Um.... What? Okay? Great. Good for you. Weird thing to say to a married couple out on a date... I just smiled and said, "we'll were happily married." and we got the hell out of there. So weird. Awful service. We shouldn't be waiting longer than we're eating. We NEVER get to go out without the kids and that was such a waste of...
Read moreDined in today for the second time (we have had their takeout before and it's excellent ). I was here earlier last fall with my cousin and dined in, and although the food and service was excellent, the restaurant was very cold, uncomfortably so. We kept our fall coats on while we ate. Unfortunately I forgot about that, and a friend and I went there for lunch today, on one of the coldest days of the year. Crossings was definitely NOT the place to go on a bitter cold day. There was no warmth to be found in that restaurant (besides the lovely waitress and wonderful food). Unfortunately the decor, the excellent service, and great food (we had the chicken flatbread and the wings):were all overshadowed by how uncomfortably cold the restaurant was. We sat beside a small space heater (picture taking a little portable space heater to an arena), and it was highly ineffective. We did not remove our coats. C'mon people...you have a great restaurant here but the experience is overshadowed by inadequate heating. Turn up the thermostat, get some effective heaters, or a new furnace and duct work...whatever it takes to give your diners a warm and enjoyable experience to go with the rest of the package. Not sure if I will go back, but if I make another attempt, I will immediately turn around and leave if I don't feel warmth emanating as soon as I enter. There are too many good restaurants in London to spend my money here if you aren't going to spend the money to at least make me somewhat comfortable...
