My wife and I along with her family our 12-year old twin girls (6 of us in total) recently took in breakfast at Family Circle in London, in search of a place with a relaxed vibe and friendly service. We’ve had breakfast at number of different establishments in London in the past, but thought we’d try somewhere new for something different. That said, here was our takeaway:
ARRIVAL/LOCATION: We turned up late around 1pm on a Monday afternoon looking for an all-day breakfast place and found Family Circle, located just off Wellington Road as you approach the outskirts of downtown London. Being a Monday afternoon, it was expectantly quieter, but were warmly greeted upon arrival and seated promptly. Family Circle exudes an ‘old school’, retro relaxed atmosphere, with dining booths extending out in an L-shape from the entrance. The booths to the right of the entrance sit under an solarium, whereas the ones forward of the entrance do not, so you can choose your atmosphere accordingly (solarium booths are naturally warmer). The restaurant is located in a very practical, easy to find location right off of Wellington and had ample parking. Five stars for Family Circle here.
MEALS: Most of us had the pancakes and eggs combo, and it did not disappoint. All six of us enjoyed our meals and there were no complaints here. The toast and meat options were also very good. In the end, all six of us left happy, fantastic breakfast fare and options all round. Five more stars.
SERVICE: Definitely a highlight here, our server was very attentive, super friendly and courteous, three very important traits that can always make or break any dining experience, no matter where you’re eating. We never felt rushed, with our server checking on us multiple times for coffee refills and to see if everything was ok. I wish we’d remembered his name, by far one of the best servers we’ve had in recent memory. Gold star service.
VALUE: This always becomes a very subjective question, depending on the customer’s experience. In our case, we found what we paid vs. what we got back in return was definitely a win in the value column. The menu is very affordable compared to other breakfast establishments in the area, and having all enjoyed our meals the takeaway here was assuredly a win.
THE BOTTOM LINE: As aforementioned, Family Circle is located right off of Wellington Road before you hit the downtown core, ideal for all those seeking a bite before exploring the city without busting the bank. Great food, amazing service and an overall good time had by all. What’s not to love? Five stars, great job Family Circle from first...
Read moreI have been to this restaurant numerous times over the years. The food is good for the price and the speed is above average. But I do feel like they try to rush you out of the restaurant by checking in every 5 minutes or so. Overall a good place too eat for the cost.
My experience today was different. We just finished Disney on ice. Decided to go there because it's a family restaurant and not fast food. Things started out well but half way through our meal a gentleman sat in the booth in front of us. Our server is the restaurant owner's son and also apparently a good friend of this gentleman. They proceeded to recount last night's adventures in detail talking about women and booze and everything else in a very lude manner. Apparently their night went to sunrise . None of their personal business bothers me. What bothers me is I have a 4 & 6 year old girls dressed in princess costumes and we are literally forced to listen to this from the owner's son with no respect for my family. You got a friend and wanna talk in your families restaurant, go to a quiet corner. You made my family embarrassed and uncomfortable. I actually had to go up to the till before you got up to let us pay. The place is good and the food is good. The son needs to grow up and learn manners and tact if he is ever to take over the business. I have dealt with his father many times over the years and he has the restaurant touch. You need to learn from your father or your business will fail. We won't be...
Read moreI have been to most breakfast spots in London, but for years now, Family Circle is always the first spot that comes to mind and the place I always find myself when gathering for breakfast or a late lunch. The service is absolutely incredible and if that hasn’t been someone’s experience, I would question their energy when engaging with the staff - were you kind?
And by all members of the FC team! A big shout out to Chris for always being welcoming, kind, attentive and every time (no exaggeration) he ensures the food is delivered as ordered, hot and delicious! Christina for her light and energy and Michael for always checking in regardless if he’s serving me or not! Excellent helpers. I always appreciate the chats and visits made to the booth to say hello. Never any issues when adjusting your meal or menu items either which is great. While I do not see the chef - thank you too!
FC is clean and inviting. Seating is spacious and there is bathrooms on site. TONS of parking. The coffee is yummy and they are always around with a top up. If you want great service, a mom and pop meal with a comfy spot to relax, then FC is worth it. Their prices are very fair and with inflation, the service is worth the price and a tip - they deserve it. These types of places and this type of service can be considered gold, depending on how you view things! Just go, and if you did not have a good experience the first time,...
