My mom and I went in to Jame’s Place on Clarke Rd for lunch today. I ordered a medium rare steak and she ordered a breakfast. To start we waited exceptionally long (atleast 45 minutes) for our food. When I cut open my steak it was very dry and way more done than medium rare. My mom asked for her sausage to be well done and instead it was under done, as well as the potatoes (most of them were still raw). Not being happy with my steak I asked for a new one, my mom let her breakfast slide and took a few bites. I was brought a new steak and when I cut into it, it was RAW. I told the waitress that I won’t be ordering any more food. My mom was struggling to eat her food as it was made so poorly, so I told the waitress that we will not be eating and we are going to leave. She told the owner about the situation and he said that she is still to charge us. She came over to our table in tears and told us he wants to make us pay. Right when I saw that poor girl cry I went up to the owner myself and he started screaming at me saying to pay and leave and that he didn’t want to “deal” with me. So, my mom walked over to him and told him we aren’t paying and he continued to scream at us telling us to pay and that the food we received was excellent. So, we left in disappointment and anger , and definitely did NOT pay. The way this man spoke to his server, my mom and I was disgusting and I will not...
Read moreNice little breakfest spot on the east side sorta industrial area behind 3M/fanshawe.. Great menu selection and daily specials. Nice atmosphere and a great staff! My most recent visit I ordered steak and eggs which was great but steak much to tough and fatty of which I eat a few bites only, the eggs and home fries were generous. Coffee is a plus as well and the taste very good. It appeared the owner approached my table sorta taller greek looking man bald and says to me it a stern plain voice ( you ok?) Hmm I thought.. who was he ? Later I found out hes one of the owners, i wondered to myself what owner goes around asking if things are ok like that and why no introduce yourself ask how my day is or start a conversation. If the staff were not serving me and it was him I'd never have gone back.
The restaurant itself is very nice and cooks/chefs looks happy and were outgoing.
I'd reccomend this place but watch for the unhappy owner.
Cheers James place...

Husband and I have been going on breakfast dates on weekends without the kids for the past little while. What we do is open up Google map, search for “brunch” and “open now” and pick one from the list wherever we are at that moment. Today’s choice is again something we passed by many times but never actually went in at James Place Restaurant.
We were seated promptly and been asked what we would like to order for drinks by a staff member before a server is available.
My mocha coffee with maple syrup and cinnamon without cream or milk is very delicious and hubby’s hot coffee is bottomless as expected.
Server took our order shortly after our drinks arrived and food was delivered very quickly. Despite that, we can tell everything is freshly prepared. We enjoyed every bite and had leftovers to bring home.
We loved this place and will mark it for a place we can return for brunch.
Thanks for serving us breakfast...
