I’ve been going to Shelby’s since they opened there location at White Oaks and was super happy when Southdale Rd W. was open. Love their food, until this time around.
Went in for my regular falafel wrap combo, like usual. Placed my order and asked to have poutine sauce to be added on my wrap like I have many times before, but this time they wanted $1 to add a little bit of sauce to a wrap. How do you justify charging $1 for a little bit of sauce on a wrap. So, I’m buying 2 wraps and you will be charging me $2. Where is the logic in that? I was looking forward to my Shelby’s wrap all day and so I didn’t want to walk out, I told the cashier to put the poutine sauce in small container and charge me the $1. So, when I got home, put the poutine sauce in the wrap myself, but then I had to wrap it back up, like they say on Shelby’s Tiktok page ‘if it’s not tight it’s not right’. Didn’t enjoy the wrap, as it was falling all over the place and falafel was too salty. Maybe just a $1 to some people, but $1 for the value of what you get is overpriced, especially when you spending $30.
I sent an email to there head office to complain about the experience like it says on their receipt, (feedback is very important) I even sent them images of the food and bill. On the bill it said $0.99 for Spicy Garlic not Poutine Sauce. Is this location ripping customers off. Head office emailed me saying that they have contacted Southdale Franchise manager and they will be contacting me within a few days, but if I don’t hear from them to email the head office back. 2 weeks have pass and I’ve heard nothing, it's not my responsibility to be contacting head office back due to the failure of franchise owner taking care of their customers.
The bigger Shelby’s gets, the less they care about their London customers. It all...
Read moreThe awesome customer service is the reason that Shelby's gets 2 stars. The guy behind the counter was super friendly, personable and polite.
The shawarma itself was very low quality and definitely did not live up to the hype that they advertised online. The shawarma was dripping in grease, the saj bread was stale and hard, chicken was inadequately seasoned and had a rubbery texture. It was all very unappetizing.
I asked for spicy garlic but their garlic sauce lacked any flavour whatsoever.....it was laughable and a disgrace to other shawarma I have had that were actually decent, and I have had many.
To add insult to injury, their "legendary" sized shawarma are the same size, maybe even smaller than others. $12.50 is highway robbery and insulting to consumers.
In conclusion, save your money and go to a place that actually makes a quality shawarma and isn't a chain. There are plenty. Ghadir is much better, only has two locations (not a chain) and you get actual value...
Read moreAmazing food!!!! We are long time shawarma fans and love all middle eastern food - this place did not disappoint. I've been to the downtown location and this one, but prefer this location for sure. The shawarma bites combos we ordered were delicious! Everything was full of incredible flavour, and not too salty like other places. The proportions were VERY generous - unlike some other places we've tried shawarma and over half of it was lettuce. The customer service was great, even though we were being those annoying customers who couldn't decide what to get because everything just looked so good, lol.
Not sure why there are reviews complaining about the spices used... Why bother getting middle eastern food if you don't like trying different spices/herbs? 🤷 I'm already planning on coming back here very soon, and I'm so glad it's so close to our new home. I'd give 10 stars if I could! Keep it...
