So Mexican Eatery — Restaurant in Ontario

I give this place a 1 star not because of the food but because of the restaurant itself. The food here is very good from what I’ve tried. I highly recommend the food but I haven’t been able to go back since then. I’ve tried to go back 4 times now with no luck. I live about 30 minutes away so it’s a bit of a commitment on my end if I decide to drive that far for food. The first time I tried to go back was on a Tuesday. The hours that are online say open till 7. I go all the way there and find out they are closed every Tuesday. I only found that out because of their facebook page. I was very disappointed but whatever. The 2nd time I try to go back was on a Wednesday. This time I went to try to be there for 6 because the hours online says they close at 7. I went to call to order ahead just to give the restaurant plenty of time to make me and my family’s order this way we weren’t ordering just before they close. This time they said they were closed. I said your hours say 7, it’s currently 6 and they said they had a catering event so weren’t open to more orders. Yet again I was on my way there and found this out. Disappointed again but I decided to give them another chance. The very last time I tried to go there was on a Friday. On Friday it says they close at 9. Me and my family were on our way again and it was around 7:30. We tried ordering ahead again this time because we were very hungry as it was already kind of late. We didn’t want to have to wait long for our food. This time when we called they said they were done taking orders for the night. I’m really disappointed with this place. The food is very good but how is it ever going to survive in a small town like Waterford if people don’t ever get the chance to go. I have to say I’m a little disappointed. After reading some of the reviews, I noticed that whenever a rating isn’t 5 stars, the owner replies in a way that seems to dismiss the customer’s concerns.

First, no matter what day or time I place an order, it always ends up being a 25–45 minute wait. With four cooks in the kitchen (as mentioned by the restaurant), it really shouldn’t take that long.

Second, paying over $17 for three small tacos feels unreasonable. They came with protein, a bit of shredded lettuce, and a piece of onion/cabbage — and that’s it. For the price, I expected more substance and value.

To be honest, you can visit a dozen other Mexican restaurants and have a burrito in under five minutes for a better price. I believe this place can do better, but as it stands, the value and wait times it just...

After being out for a long kayak I was looking for lunch and had been meaning to try this place.

I got the Quesabirria, it was soo tasty, and it really hit the spot too!

The staff was friendly and helpful, I asked about the Elotes that I saw scrolling by on the screen and was told they aren't on the menu yet but they are coming soon. I have been looking for a good place to eat Elotes so I am looking forward to coming back and trying it.

I did see people appearing frustrated with the wait time, it didn't seem too long to me. Unfortunately I think people might be expecting "fast food" Mexican restaurant wait times.

Side note: doesn't change my review but the mirror in the bathroom is not made for short people, I could only see the very top...
