Hello Knoll Owner and Staff -

Thank you for your kind invitation and for trying to make things better. It was never my intention to be offered a free meal - my only desire was to bring a problem to your attention.

One of the reasons for my phoning for a reservation was to confirm the menu (both my wife and I have diet restrictions) and I was assured that it was your full menu. If I was advised at the time that your menu was a limited winter menu, I would have politely declined and there would have been no reason for me posting a poor review.

Once again, I do want to thank you for reaching out and trying to correct this matter - but I find that I would feel very awkward in accepting a free meal under these circumstances and it would be the same limited menu to order from.

Thanks you - Dennis Fox

I took my wife to The Knoll for Sunday dinner. I phoned to make a reservation and to check out the menu - a full menu was available I was told - that was not true. When we arrived I was told it was their winter menu - basically a limited pub food menu.

It was a beautiful sunny evening in early spring and our table by the window overlooking the lake was perfect.

Our meals were not good at all - my wife's fish and chips were just OK - but why the crispy coated fries? (McCain's frozen?) and the one spoonful of coleslaw was hidden under the fish. My meal, a "Beef Dip" sandwich was just horrible - the beef was overcooked, dried out and tasteless. The bun was soaked on the bottom from the juice - with the same frozen fries! I honestly could not eat more than half - and I was hungry!

Later that night, I could not sleep because of an upset stomach. This is the reason I have decided to write a review for the first time. I have been to The Knoll on a number of occasions - this is the worse experience we have had there -...

The Knoll Restaurant at Isaiah Tubbs Resort and Convention Centre hasn’t gotten much attention from County locals in the past. I predict that this will change as County residents learn of the major improvements in the menu and cooking under chef Amir Ahmadi, who has just celebrated one year in this position.

Five of us went to dinner at the restaurant last evening. We were told that it was the first night of their summer menu, which made us a bit nervous. But we were highly impressed. The cooking, and presentation of dishes, is now competitive with the top restaurants in the County.

My starter was an attractively presented Caesar salad, with a tasty homemade dressing, applewood bacon and baked crostinis. For my main course, I chose the AAA marinated hanger steak, and ordered it medium rare. As this is a thin cut of beef, it’s easy to overcook it, but the chef delivered it as ordered, accompanies by salsa verde, excellent fries and aioli. For dessert, a sticky toffee pudding, with a scoop of vanilla bean gelato. A highly satisfying meal.

The other appetizers and mains — shrimp bucatini and steelhead trout — were equally impressive. Chef Amir came over to our table to thank us for coming, and to get some feedback on the food — all very positive.

In addition to the inside space and veranda, the Knoll Restaurant has a wonderful deck overlooking West Lake — a great place to enjoy dinner and the setting sun. Highly...

The view is beautiful but they don’t care at all! It was cold today and because of the Easter Weekend everything else was closed. So I thought that maybe I can get a coffee and something on the side to eat and hence we headed towards this “Restaurant”. I asked the person who was standing outside of the restaurant rooms that we can get a coffee and sit here for a while. He said “we have coffee but let me check if you could sit inside”... we waited there for 2-3 minutes then he back and said that “sorry we are booked for the night”... really? It was evening around 5 pm and the Restaurant was not that “booked” as empty chairs were clearly seen from outside. I drink my coffee really fast so it was not the issue that I’ll be sitting there for 2-3 hours! I had to come back to Toronto as soon as possible because from tomorrow we have to work and today we want to relax a bit at our house.

I guess there is no pretty place where I can drink my coffee with a view in Prince Edward County!

And I’m really shocked by the answer of that person that the place is booked and we can’t have our coffee but the place was not...

Beautiful view. Excellent food and service. We were extremely disappointed to learn that the well water that was served at dinner was high in nitrates. The signage was on the front door but the door was open when we arrived so the warning sign was not visible upon entry(it was moved to be visible immediately after our inquiry). I only saw a small sign in the washroom. I wrongly assumed that the sign was just for the water in the washroom. Something wasn’t sitting right and we asked the server about the sign. The water served to us was in fact the same well water that the warning sign is pertaining to. The restaurant should be more transparent when offering water. If I had have known from the start, I would not have let my young son drink the water. It can cause significant harm to young children and pregnant women. I hope that management will make sure to let customers know about the high nitrates and risks before serving tap water. The minimal signage is not enough especially when covered by a door.

Had dinner at the Knoll tonight, with a couple girlfriends, the service and food was top tear! Krissy, Lisa, Aleah, Taylor, Tenzin, Raymond and Steve all were tentative, knowledgeable, kind and personable. They were busy, and had a few challenges with the water system, but did their best to keep everyone happy. I witnessed them approach each table several times throughout the night to see if everyone was ok and had everything they needed from 6pm-9:15pm (we had a few drinks after dinner and enjoyed the patio until close) being a server is not an easy job and this team did an incredible job tonight! Water was off for the resort for a short time, but alternatives were provided. Great job tonight to the Knoll! We will be back!

The food and service were absolutely amazing!!! I haven’t eaten that tasty for a while! We ordered the soup of the day (it happened to be a cauliflower one), some artichoke dips, Caesar salad with chicken, fish tacos, fish and chips and a cheesecake, and EVERYTHING was delicious! Yes, the service might be a little slow, but it's only because they are really understaffed. Waitresses were doing everything they possibly could to take all the orders, make drinks and bring it all at the same time and be nice â˜ș. All in all - I highly recommend this place and would definitely be visiting it again!
