The Village Diner — Restaurant in Ontario

This place was a gem. We were headed to another chain breakfast spot while visiting the area when we saw this place and it looked busy so we decided to give it a try. A very unassuming spot. But clearly a local favorite and our experience told us why the locals seem to love it. It feels very homey. The food was amazing and plentiful. The service is friendly and efficient. There was a bit of a wait for food but I believe that was because the food is made fresh to order and from scratch. It was not to greasy or heavy even for a big egg and meat with all the fixing breakfast. We both particularly enjoyed the pancake that came with pur meal that had the perfect crispy edges that made the pancake something to be savored. We had an impromptu breakfast after our grandsons christening today. We were a fairly large group of friends and family...young children, older adults and a couple of seniors. We dropped in with no reservations and they were incredibly welcoming. They rearranged the tables, and they were very friendly and attentive. The servers were incredibly helpful, the meals were delicious and the atmosphere was great. I can't say enough positive things about our experience with them today. If you haven't tried this spot yet then you are missing out. These people are what customer service is all about. Kudos to both the staff on the floor and in the kitchen. You have a great team...

Went in shortly before noon. Waited over 10 minutes from sitting without getting so much as coffee or a menu. Overhead waitress telling another customer it would be 45 minutes for food. She then said she'd be right with us, but proceeded to make 2 more trips out to our section with drinks for other tables and still didn't even bring us menus. A second waitress also made a trip to our section, and rather than serving people, spent the time visiting with apparent friends sitting in the section. We ended up leaving without ever having...
