Ordered from this location last week. Ordered myself and my son a kids burger combo. I placed the order over the phone. Paid for and got my order. I went in today with my son and ordered the same thing for lunch but they wouldn't let me order the kids meal because it's for 10 and under only. The adult combo is too much food. The server asked me if I had ordered my food at night when the manager wasn't there and that they couldn't get me the kids combo because the managers were there. I said no, she got the manager and the manager told me I can't do that because I'm not 10 or under. I said okay if I order an adult meal and substitute it with the kids size meal but pay the adult meal price, could I do that? She said yes. I said okay we're leaving. She said, "Okay thank you so much for coming and have a great day!" With sarcasm. Yikes. What does age have to do with the price of food? I'm still the one paying for it, I'm an adult. My son doesn't pay for his meal, I do. Why is this a thing? I can't eat a lot of food and you're just charging me more for that because I'm not 10. Hello?...
Read moreOne star because there was no choice for zero. We tried dining in Wimpy’s on Memorial Ave in Orillia today. Bad choice. I ordered a beef dip au jus and fries. The meat was old, dry, cold and tasted like it was sitting in the fridge for a week before they sliced it up. Still burping that off flavour up. Just gross! Not to mention the au jus was watery like a beef bouillon cube mix, I couldn’t stomach it. Lucky I ordered gravy on the side for my fries. My wife had the elliptical shaped jr burger that looked like it was made of soy she wasn’t very impressed with that either. The use of generic frozen franchise specific products is just wrong, no wonder the place was empty! The waitress was kind enough to ask how everything tasted. Well, I had to restrain myself from being honest at the time out of courtesy, so here it is - “ It tasted like crap” - and it was not worth the $70 price tag for the three of us. It’s a wonder how this place stays in business. I hear their breakfasts are ok, but then again, how hard is it to screw up and overcharge for eggs? I won’t be going...
Read moreWARNING: Attack of the killer bees!
My family and I were excited to once again visit this location as many of our past experiences here were very pleasant. However, unbeknownst to us, we were walking into a dangerous den of horror aflight!
With a brief return of relatively pleasant weather (a bit windy), we had planned to sit outside and take in the last breath of fall before the long haul of winter that is soon to come.
Our hopes were quickly dashed when we were informed by the staff that they were closing the patio due to a tremendous bee problem. According to the staff, the bees were even attacking people!
Not wanting to be stars of the latest killer bee invasion horror movie, (although we didn't see any of the nasty pests at all), we high tailed it down the road a bit and found another establishment with an open patio that these "killer bees" are apparently ignorant of.
It is with a hardened heart that we will no longer be visiting this location in the future, as we could never know what horror could be next. (Mosquitoes? Blackflies? Gangs of roving...
