My daughter and I made the 1 hour trip to Deja Vu Diner after seeing a TikTok video (by josephdebenedictis) praising this small town restaurant. We went today (a Tuesday morning) after hearing Deja Vu it had been inundated with MANY new visitors who had also seen the TikTok. We figured a Tuesday was a safe bet to get in (and coffee is free on Tuesdays!). We were seated immediately and my daughter ordered the ‘secret, not on the menu’ Strawberry Cheesecake Pancakes (fluffy, topped with cream cheese drizzle and loads of strawberry purée). I had a breakfast platter with 2 eggs, Cobs toast, bacon, hash browns (awesome!) and two of their cinnamon bun pancakes which were sweet but very good (if a tad overdone on the bottom). The portions were generous (visitors are encouraged to bring your own Tupperware to take home leftovers) and Hannah gave us very friendly and inviting service. We will definitely be back to try their lunch menu - specifically their Dill Pickle Poutine!!

Great breakfast stop. Clearly a hit with locals. Pat was overwhelmed by the volume of food. We planned on breakfast, keeping us going all day. It did. This is an updat. When we were in a couple of weeks ago, I knew I go out of my way for return trip. Today provided the opportunity to return. I ordered the Cinnamon roll pancakes, I knew they would be a bad dietary choice leading to a late sugar crash. The did not disappoint, we can't be good all of the time. When I decide to be bad I want to be very bad. These even make Cinnamon buns at Aunt Catfish's in Port Orange FL a little tame. WOW!!! 2 👍 1 of these would be great fo dessert with vanilla ice cream.

Was really looking forward to trying this restaurant after seeing a video! Was kind of disappointed, the food was average, service was good. Eggs Benedict were good but not the best I’ve had, the home fries were luke warm and seemed like they had been sitting under a heat lamp. Hot hamburger was a smaller than expected portion with very minimal gravy, which we paid extra to have extra gravy. The fried cheesecake was good but expensive as there is a charge for every topping, and toppings were sparse. On top of that it was so hot in the restaurant, very uncomfortable while trying to enjoy a meal. Glad I tried it but probably won’t make a special trip back.

We have an informal breakfast club and we love trying out different breakfast places across town and a bit on the outskirts.

One of our friends/member saw this place on Tik Tok and decided this would be our next stop.

It was about a 50 min drive from Mississauga but it was a quiet drive with not much traffic. The restaurant upon entering you are greeted by this giant picture collage on the wall. We were greeted by the owner (so friendly) and seated right away.

Our server was AHHHHHH-MAZING!!! Ok I want to say the entire staff were amazing. Even overhearing their side conversations, you could tell they have a genuine camaraderie with each other.

We were served our coffee and teas right away. Our server took the time to chit chat with us and and was very helpful in helping us select as we had never been before.

I ordered the Super Special...can't remember the exact name. It was two eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 French toast, home fries (you had the option of dollar fries), bacon and sausage and a choice of toast.

I added sautéed onions to the home fries and leveled up the pancakes by making them strawberry Cheesecake (Doooooo it!!!!) And wow....it was so delicious and fluffy and you absolutely 💯 do not need syrup of any kind.

The toast was served with homemade jam (deeeeeelicious).

The food was an instant 5/5 and the French toast is made with Cobs cinnamon bread which heightens that flavour profile.

Our table ordered variations on the Super with blueberry, and cinnamon pancakes and they all raved about the pancakes (all the food).

The ambiance of this place is very much small town village vibes. The kind of place that is homey and comfortable like your favourite pair of pj's...you just want to live in them. That's how this place makes you feel. Like you're visiting home.

On Tuesday's your coffee is free with purchase of your meal. You're also encouraged to bring your own Tupperware for leftovers so as to reduce waste (brilliant idea) and my favourite part is a program aimed at helping to provide meals to those who aren't able to afford it.

Our table bought a total of four vouchers. They come in denominations of $10 and $5.

$10 will provide a breakfast and a coffee/tea and $5 provides a bowl of soup and a coffee/tea.

There are pastries on sale....namely buttertarts. Lots of flavours to choose from. They are pretty good 👍🏾

There is also a store attached where you are able to purchase frozen items served in the restaurant.

Did I mention the baked beans? They are homemade and they are absolutely delicious 😋 Some of the best homemade baked beans I've ever had.

There is a nice little sign asking that within 10 mins of paying your bill, due to the restaurant being so busy on weekends....please wrap it up and I love that. It keeps a great flow and more people are able to eat and enjoy.

Prices are average and in my opinion worth it. My Platter was $19.99 plus extra for upgrades (pancakes/onions) and the portion sizes are fantastic.

I took half my meal home and ate it for dinner.

As a side note, they also have senior portions. In case you cannot finish a regular portion.

We will be back, that's a...

We visited this restaurant, for our first time, on two different days. Tuesday evening for dinner, and Wednesday morning for breakfast, as we stopped for the night in Orangeville. The Tuesday evening dinner left MUCH to be desired. First, the restaurant was very quiet when we were seated (1 other table occupied). Two other tables were seated about 10 to 15 minutes AFTER WE PLACED OUR ORDER, yet their food arrived BEFORE ours. We could only assume it was because these two separate tables were regular customers, due to the wait staff constantly chatting with them. Regardless. Rude. We didn't order ANYTHING that would have taken longer than usual. A Cobb salad, and a hot turkey sandwich. Then the whole time we were there some super loud woman with her small child (about 1 to 2 years old) were wandering around the restaurant the whole damn time. In and out of the aisles, and even back into the KITCHEN area (totally unsafe and irresponsible).😳 I'm guessing this was someone who might have worked there, as she could be heard repeatedly saying "it's a family affair", like taking your very small child to work with you, at a RESTAURANT was something to actually brag about. 🙄🤦‍♀️ VERY unprofessional and unsafe behavior; family restaurant or not. Ironically enough Deja Vu responded to someone else's review that strollers aren't allowed because "they BLOCK the aisles and are a possible fire hazzard". Yeah and a small kid and his mother constantly wandering idly around the place aren't? -- Side note: breakfast service however, was super fast. -- We stayed at the hotel right next door; if we're ever though here in the future we'd likely not visit again, new location...

Great way to start a day off! BEST Eggs Benny that has ever crossed my lips! The fresh Canadian bacon portion covers half of my plate like a schnitzel! Amazing homemade Hollandaise sauce and perfectly poached eggs. The delicious seasoning on the home fries is such a big secret, not even the owner, Jennifer, knows what it is! The cook won’t even tell her. 😂 I love listening to Jenn interact with everyone, from staff to customers, to delivery peeps. This is an owner who is more about building relationships and feeding who is in front of her, at that very moment, the best that her amazing restaurant has to offer. I coined Jenn as the Queen of the Covid Pivot. Operating a business is hard and during these trying Covid 19 times, even harder. It takes a strong stomach, hard work, planning and a level head to beat this. Jenn has done it! The specialty grocery store she opened right next door, is a foodie’s playground! If you want fresh bread and tasty butter tarts, amazing flash frozen fresh meats and seafood from her great local vendors, or sauces from Barrie, Fire in the Kitchen spices/seasoning, pierogi, sausages, homemade soups, a huge selection of Keurig cups (sold individually or by the box with a reward system), interesting vegan foods, feel good scented candles and snacks you would have to drive to the City for...Déjà Vu has it! The wings and drumsticks are so darn meaty, I’m going to have to pick them up for my boys love their poultry, especially these two cuts. Great job Jenn! I’m so...
