Couldn't handle a busy Saturday afternoon rush during the Tulip Festival. We arrived around 1:30 and there was a line to get in. We were greeted by a lovely young lady and we went inside to order. I found out that the fried chicken and fried rice options were sold out (I was disappointed). For the "ready to go" options, only the teokbokki was available. Lunch options were done for the day too. I wish there was a sign on the outside of the restaurant that marked the lunch options, KFC and rice as sold out. I felt bad witnessing the servers having to say "we're sold out" every 3 minutes.
After I ordered, I asked how long it would take... She said 30 minutes. 30 mins passed, nothing. I asked how much longer. She said soon. Another 30 mins passed....I had to ask again. She told me, 3 more mins. Finally after waiting patiently for over an hour, the food was ready. I was disappointed that some people who dined in that came after me were given their food first. I witnessed several potential customers who were turned away because they had to re-stock and they were overwhelmed with too many orders. I wish they were more proactive and give me updates as opposed to me asking them.
We ordered the Jangjangmyeon, Japchae and Yu Rin Gi. My kid said the chicken was very juicy and he enjoyed it a lot. Both my husband and I enjoyed the noodles. I wish we got to experience the KFC....

The XO fried crab rice was good. Went down easily and was very light to eat and not heavy.
Fried chicken was delicious. Ordered a few different types.
Japchae tasted good. As well as the Jjajangmen which I am glad this restaurant carried. It is very hard to find a place that actually makes it in house.
Kimmari tastes good and the sauce complements it. Fried dough was good too.
Bonus 2 boxes of fries included which was very nice of the staff/owners.
Next time, we will enjoy eating there outside on the patio on a cool day.
I hope one day they include more items like kimbap, spare ribs, bibimbap and/or Korean rice balls/triangles. Also seafood and/or kimchi pancakes would be a great addition.
This is definitely one the best Korean restaurants in Ottawa. The location is nearby a open city parking lot and near many other restaurants and somerset. It's a nice walk down Little Italy to get to this location or if you take public transportation you can get off near Adult High School or Gladstone and walk the rest of the way.

Read moreMy date and I had to wait approximately half an hour to get a table. While waiting we watched whole families and others bypass the line outside and walked right in to be seated indoors. Once we finally were seated, before we could fully decide our order we were approached by a rude waitress who said, “What do you want to order.” We had to think quickly and we decided to share a dish. That was when we were told each person has to order separately. I have never encountered this before at a restaurant in Ottawa or anywhere to be honest. Their signature dishes are $40, so minimum 2 people are paying $80 off the bat, without drinks. Between the long wait, allowing others ahead in line, rude customer service and not knowing you cannot share a meal we immediately got up and left. Pricing is outrageous, there are other Korean restaurants in Ottawa that are cheaper, friendlier, have delicious cuisine with a nicer atmosphere. Terrible experience and not sure what all the hype is about. One star only because the food smelled ok from the street...
