I've been a proud member of the Nepean Sailing Club since 2023, and it has truly enriched my life. Nestled on the Ottawa River, the club offers beautiful views, a friendly community, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes it a joy to return to again and again.

One of the best parts of being a member is participating in the weekly sailboat races every Tuesday and Thursday. Racing with a wonderful crew has been an incredible experience—full of excitement, teamwork, and learning. The sailing community here is passionate, inclusive, and always ready to lend a hand or share a story.

The facilities are solid, and the club offers a range of programs for sailors of all levels. Whether you’re new to sailing or a seasoned racer, you’ll find your place here. The social events, training opportunities, and waterfront amenities really round out the experience.

That said, there is still room for improvement when it comes to organization—especially around event logistics and communication. A bit more clarity and structure would go a long way in making the experience even better for everyone involved.

Overall, Nepean Sailing Club is a gem in Ottawa, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in sailing or simply enjoying life...

The quality of service has declined significantly. Both administrative and restaurant staff have become increasingly rude and unhelpful, which seems to be a widespread issue now. The Admin's behavior toward us/members is completely unacceptable - bully, late/ignores, just plain rude and clearly does not want to be there. Despite reaching out to management and the board (politely and with objectivity), we've been ignored, which makes it difficult to recommend NSC over other local clubs. We pay just under $7000 a year in club fees, mooring, etc. and NSC doesn't work to earn it/deserve it at all... at the new club we feel like our money is well-spent with the facilities and service we receive there.

Many of my friends and acquaintances have left for similar reasons, and after exploring other local clubs, it's clear that other clubs offer better management, more attentive staff, and superior facilities. For the cost of membership and mooring fees at NSC, we expected better service and respect, and unfortunately, that’s no longer the case.

In the end, we chose to leave for a club that values its members (not the NSC) and are happy with the decision...

The Nepean Sailing Club is one of Ottawa’s finest waterfront destinations, combining a vibrant sailing community with a welcoming atmosphere for visitors. Located on the Ottawa River, the club offers beautiful views, especially at sunset, and is a great place to unwind whether or not you’re an avid sailor. The marina is well-maintained, with ample docking space and facilities that make it convenient for both casual boaters and experienced sailors.

For those interested in learning, the club provides excellent sailing programs for all ages, from youth summer camps to adult training sessions. It’s a fantastic way to experience the water and build confidence in a supportive environment. The community spirit here is strong members are friendly, events are well-organized, and there’s a sense of camaraderie that makes newcomers feel included.

The clubhouse itself is inviting, featuring a waterfront restaurant and patio that’s popular even with non-members. Dining while overlooking the sailboats and river is a relaxing experience, making it an ideal spot for both casual meals and...

The food here was good, everything tasted like made in-house, the smoked meat was just a plain sandwich, toasted bread, and smoked meat no lettuce, tomato, or buttered bread, it was delicious but purely meat lover. Getting up to get your food is a little twist they have here, no real table service. The atmosphere is great so calm and relaxing, the live music was a nice touch to the vibe of the Galley, and the patio has an amazing view, the locals here are friendly, and some love to stare if you don't fit the customer demographic.

First time at this Club and it was great! We had penne (dining companion said it was spicy). I had a burger and fries. Burger was nicely cooked and tasty. Drinks were good too and the view is special! Watching the boats come in and the view of the marina, from the outside patio, is really nice. You do not have to be a member to eat there. They also had a large back room (see photos) and a secure, outside tent on the grass level for a picnic
