Sugar & Slice — Restaurant in Ottawa

I am seriously pissed of these so called "Halal guys".. And their raw burgers and sneaky methods. Here is what happened.

I ordered from them in the past and i stopped because a few times i noticed their burgers were raw (not undercooked).. but RAW! So i stopped ordering from them. And would never again. They did the same mistake again and again, which in other words they DONT CARE ABOUT QUALITY OR SAFETY. Nothing halal about that.

So about a month ago I placed an order from some restaurant called "HalalGuys Burgers N Shakes", thought i would try it. I ordered a chicken mushroom burger and a double patty cheese burger. I received the chicken burger as beef and the double patty as single patty (order was already wrong). Second, BOTH burgers WERE RAW. LOOK AT THE PHOTOS!!!

Why did I mention this??? Because this is the SAME DAMN RESTUARANT!

I felt I had this damn unholy experience before!!! Same burgers, same raw, same packaging.. oh wait its same address!!!

Their previous name got so many bad reviews that they CHANGED / OR ADDED a new name on UBER EATS!!! TO FOOL CUSTOMERS to order again!!!

That is VERY SNEAKY and a VERY DIRTY move!

Not only that.. The actual restaurant called "The Halal Guys" is a very famous franchise of good quality in Canada and USA, so they used this name to fool customer to think it may be the same one.

Instead of changing their methods and quality, they changed their name! I wonder what the next name they will choose next time.. "Super Halal Quality Guys" probably.

To add to all that.. The order was on uber. I gave a bad review, because after eating a couple of bites and noticed that i was eating raw meat i threw the food in the garbage. I tried and tried to get uber to refund me but they didnt. They acknowledge the issue and said they will "take action" and check about this, but i didnt get my refund. After a month i lost hope so I am making a review here also but people should know. I paid for an order to throw in the garbage and risk getting seriously poisoned.

I rated the restaurant and left them comments on uber but they never replied or corrected this or refunded me.

Now they will find a way to blame it on uber somehow like every reply in the reviews as if uber cooked their burgers! This is easily the 3rd or 4th time i saw raw burgers from this place. There is no excuse anymore!

I BET you, many customers had it that way, but they never noticed (because sometimes the beef patties are thin and soft), you would eat raw and not notice (even though its THIN!!!). Just leave it on the grill for a few minutes!!

I've found the quality of the food to be very inconsistent. The -only- reason I continue to order is due to the deals they often have on ubereats and how fast delivery typically is. I've had burgers with the wrong toppings, samosas (2/3 times) being undercooked and I ALWAYS get the crispy fries and yet this time around they were undercooked too. It almost seemed like the crispy fries weren't "fresh" or maybe were microwaved? Some were cold and others were hot.

If the food was consistent I'd happily pay more, but there's always at least one thing wrong and I only put up with it because it is so inexpensive. At the end of the day it's very 50/50. Quality control is just not there.
