Allow limited amounts of certain donuts even when ordering larger numbers for multiple dozens for other clients when we were trying to minimise contact of those elderly patrons then fought us saying they had to be here to order since we were only one client. Then refused to take cash payment because they didn't have a register or cash box. Good thing we went and not the elderly people we were buying for since they would have had no recourse but to walk away empty handed thus inhibiting their ability to procure goods and services in Ontario. Only after payment was made and they held our donuts until they talked with the manager did the associate say they would accept exact change; which could have been made easily. Rather they flat out refused and said they didn't have to because "other businesses aren't taking cash either." We have supported SuzyQ since Day One when they were in a rickety old shack in Hintonburg, but I think times will be changing. This entire experience has left a sour feeling with this establishment and we are genuinely disheartened with our experience. If you wish to pay cash or live by a cash based means or are old school like so many elderly and life experienced people are then you may wish to go elsewhere or hope to have someone pay by debit or credit in order to enjoy their doughnuts. Zero stars this time around as the experience outweighs the quality of...
Read moreFew times I have tried coffee here. The server/Batista always helps me understand the bean and the type of process as I am not a reg coffee person. The fall special coffee was great. Lovely they use local roasters. But most times my coffee/ latte come not as hot as I prefer even though I pay for the steamed milk alternative. I dunno if the caramel syrup brings the temp down or the cups being cold. I will prefer a ceramic cup as I like to have my coffee there. But it has to be specified beforehand else they full it in a paper cup. Nobody needs a lukewarm coffee:( Never felt like bringing it to the attention of the Barista as there is only one person and there will always be at least one customer that needs their time.
Please do something about coffee mugs for people that want it and hot coffee when they have it.
All time fav is the Brampton cream donut for me.Hope they make it in dark chocolate. They had the Hazeldean flavor recently and it was so good. But it was a seasonal flavour and I just had it once. Dirty chocolate is always a tempter. But sometimes the tasty crispy cocoa crumble is overdosed with the sticky chocolate syrup.
That said SQ donuts are always a lovely treat! The donuts never disappoint. Love the donuts! Wish they have in small sizes and gf for those who wish for portion control😃 Maybe a half glazed half plain sourdough donut option when we...
Read moreI'll start by saying I'd have given 4.5 if I could, ands I'll explain eventually. Their donuts are great, with the dough being less sweet than many, while the topping covers for that in varying degrees. I find some of them over the top, but can always fall back on the D'Ohnut, maple bacon or London Fog. Today they had what might be the best Apple fritter I've ever eaten. It was like an apple hand pie, though more dough than those words might inspire. Firm and well baked, easy to hold, with a nice flavor of apples with the pieces scattered through it. It didn't have an excess of glaze, which some of the big chains seem to fall back on in place of a quality product underneath. My biggest issue, and the loss of half a star, is that they vary what they make, so when I discover a true treasure, like the Morning Bun without the sugar coating, I'm inevitably disappointed when it vanishes from the menu again. It provides new options, yes, but also takes away new favorites as the next wave comes around. For those who always want to try something different, this might be perfect. For myself, who is happy with a great thing once he's found it, it can be disappointing. Keep...
