If you’re looking for an authentic taste of Europe in Ottawa, Wedel, A Touch of Europe on Richmond Road is an absolute must-visit. I’ve been here multiple times and have tried nearly everything on the menu—and every single dish has been nothing short of incredible.

From the moment you step inside, you’re transported to a cozy European café. The warm, inviting atmosphere, complete with rustic decor and the aroma of freshly baked pastries, makes it feel like a little slice of Poland right in the heart of the city. The owners and staff are friendly, passionate about their food, and always ready to offer recommendations based on your preferences.

Let’s talk about the food—because that’s where Wedel truly shines. Their pierogi are hands-down some of the best I’ve ever had, with perfectly tender dough and generously filled with delicious flavors, from classic potato and cheese to rich, savory meat options. Their schnitzels are crispy and golden on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and served with a side of perfectly seasoned potatoes and tangy sauerkraut. The Hungarian goulash is another standout—hearty, deeply flavorful, and cooked to perfection.

And then there are the desserts. The Polish cheesecake is light, creamy, and not overly sweet, making it the perfect end to a meal. The poppy seed roll and apple strudel are also phenomenal, with just the right balance of flavors and textures. And of course, no visit is complete without a cup of their European-style coffee or hot chocolate—rich, smooth, and full of depth.

Whether you’re stopping in for a quick lunch, a leisurely dinner, or just a coffee and pastry, Wedel, A Touch of Europe delivers an unforgettable experience every time. If you appreciate homemade, high-quality European comfort food, do yourself a favor and visit this gem. You won’t be...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I strolled into this deli on a whim and was immediately Pierogi-struck! A legendary owner, Tina is a testament to hard work and Polish pride. Not only is she a master of her craft, but she also embodies politeness, friendliness, and genuine care for her customers. Every dish, from the kielbasa to the bigos, oozes the essence of tradition and is Krakow-ing with flavour. Her recommendations come with the wisdom only a true Polish food connoisseur would have. You can taste the Wawel of love in every bite, and it's clear this deli is Poland ahead thanks to her dedication. Make no mistake for an authentic taste and heartwarming experience – this is the...

Honestly , the stuff they sell there is very nice but these people are racists . I go there every time I go get my nails done on Richmond because I like the food that’s sold there but they always eyed me down and ignored me . Today, the guy that was there passed me three times and served/spoke to those who came after me before serving me . I could also see in his face he didn’t want to serve me . I have noticed the eyeing down with the lady that’s usually there but she still tries to act nice but the guy did not hide the fact that he did not want...

Quite confused after my first time trying this place. Half my order was missing. Ordered the $25 polish platter which was supposed to have a cabbage roll, 4 pierogis, a sausage, and hunters stew. Instead I was given a scoop of potatoes, a few small pieces of meat, 4 pierogis and a small salad. The portions are also quite small for the price. I was mainly disappointed that, when arriving home to eat, I only had half of what I ordered.

This spot is honestly a really well run establishment. It’s a beautiful spot to dine in but also good to get things to bring home for the family. The food is really good stuff - traditional polish food, polish staff, and probably a few more polish things!! Oh and the desserts are spectacular! I actually have no idea that cheesecake was originated from Poland. Definitely a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ spot! Would/will visit again 😎
