La Femme et Le Boulanger — Restaurant in Otterburn Park

We were visiting Montréal from upstate New York and LA and found ourselves in La Femme et le Boulanger's area for hiking. Stopping in on a whim to this cozy, humble place, we were absolutely blown away by the quality of service and food. The staff was incredibly helpful and made us feel absolutely at home, even with our mediocre French. The sandwiches the owner helped us pick out were incredibly delicious (apple and cheddar and the Italian ham) and he even set up our small table to make us comfortable and poured our beverages personally into glasses he brought out. The younger worker gave us complimentary apple pastries, and he was happy to showcase his delicious New Orleans-style beignet to us Americans. Friendly, but i find more taste in commercial croissants…do not blame my taste but their lack of baking knowledge. Ever felt like chocolatine more dryness and less the sweetness? They’ve been making em since ‘98…mustve been a bad year in the baking industry or a shortage of ingredients…i truly do not know and it haunts my nights...
