We have been to “My Place Fonthill” a number of times. The food was ok but, on Friday January 24th, 2025 my husband ordered off the menu. He ordered the Chicken Parmigiana with Penne noodles and a side Caesar salad. It was alright & tasty. I ordered off the Special menu for the weekend . I ordered the Salmon with Seafood Stuffing and risotto. It seemed tasty the risotto was crunchy not cooked through. I only ate half the meal. I started not feeling well. Not sure if it was the rice or the fish. I ended up feeling really ill later and being sick 🤢 🤮 Needless to say it came up and out. I decided to call and talk to the manager so I did on Sunday mid morning. Didn’t want to do it Saturday when they might be busy. When I called I asked for the manager and the person that answered the phone asked why and I said food poisoning. He got the manager and the man answered and basically the conversation didn’t go the way I thought a manager would respond. I told him the reason for the call to let him know of the situation. I could tell he was getting a bit defensive. I told him what we ordered and about my dish that the risotto was crunchy and he said it didn’t sound it was cooked enough and told him about me getting food poisoning. No apology….he said “what do you want me to do?”…. saying it with no remorse. I thought WOW! …I said “ an apology would be nice.” And, he said “you didn’t give me a chance.” I didn’t give him a chance I would have thought the first thing out of his mouth should have been “ I’m so sorry you experienced that. I hope you’re ok now.” That would have been enough. I was “not” looking for a free meal or a voucher just I’m sorry this happened to you. He just got into a defensive mode and made me feel bad again! I wasn’t looking for anything other than letting him know something went wrong with my dish. That perhaps by letting him know he should look into the food that was used etc… It’s not an experience I’d want anyone else to go through I know I don’t want to go through it again. I’m not sure if he’s the same man that seated us on Friday or not. If it was him he didn’t seem to want to be there no smile more of a grunt. I don’t think we’ll be...

The owner should take any opportunity to better their business and maintain a high-standard of professionalism if they wish to maintain the integrity of this restaurant
I implore you to carefully consider how valuable your time and money is prior to choosing My Place as your dining destination. Incredibly tardy service and lack of attentiveness. Many other reviews confirm our experience.
We were excited to take advantage of some rare free-time with friends and chose My Place as a trusted, local establishment. Started by waiting some time before being acknowledged at the entrance. Arrived at 2 pm with a party of 4 on a seemingly slow Saturday as there was only one other party in the dining area. Waited 1 hr for our food (1. California Avocado Salad 2. Chicken Souvlaki 3. Gyro Souvlaki 4. Prime Rib Sandwich) and had to ask our waitress for refills on our water and pop on an unusually warm April afternoon. Did not even see her to "flag her down" the entire hour. Waitress seemed less than enthusiastic when interacting and did not check on us to verify quality and accuracy of order. Most likely would have recieved more consideration from a fast-food restaurant employee.
Upon observation, a party at the front of the restaurant received prompt service and began boxing up their food before our menu selections even arrived. Read other reviews commenting on preferential treatment towards parties of 6+. Very pricey as our total came to over $50 for the salad and chicken souvlaki with a pop.
Regretful to write this review and admit that this isn't the first time we've had to wait an unacceptable amount of time for such terrible service. 2-stars awarded simply for ambiance and...

We’ve been to My Place several times now and figured it was time we finally left a review. Long story short: we’ve never been disappointed.
Our first intro to the food was actually years ago when a friend ordered pizza for a party. We were impressed—hand-stretched crust, solid sauce, and just a really good pie. That led us to check out the restaurant itself, starting with Sunday brunch.
The brunch was great, with a good variety of options—but we’re still a little bummed they took the eggs Benedict off the menu. My brother-in-law was obsessed with it, and it really gave their brunch something other places didn’t have.
More recently, we’ve been for dinner a few times and everything has been consistently good:
The 14oz AAA ribeye got two thumbs up from my husband.
Nachos are massive—great to share.
Brother-in-law had the lobster mac and cheese and wouldn’t shut up about it (in a good way).
My sister’s pasta came in a portion big enough to feed a small crowd.
Even my picky daughter liked her burger, which is saying something.
I had a burger too, and it was solid—great toppings, and the smoked bacon was a nice touch.
A few small cons:
Only 8 pieces of pita with the saganaki—would’ve liked a few more.
It can get a bit loud near the bar during after-work hours.
The new POS system seemed to slow things down a bit, but I’m sure that’ll smooth out.
And the ladies’ washroom stalls... let’s just say the frosted doors aren’t doing much to hide what’s going on inside.
Overall, My Place has become one of our go-to spots for a relaxed meal with good food and big portions. Definitely worth checking out. Just please—bring back...
