I have never written a review for a restaurant before, but I feel my experience today needed to be shared. We have been to this location many times as the kids really enjoy going. This was the first time we went after 9pm for the promotion on the 1/2 price apps, which is dine in only.
First, my husband asked for a double shot of grey goose and the waitress told him they ran out and only have smirnoff and kettle one. So my husband told her he has never had kettle one, so he'll take the smirnoff.
Next, we ordered some apps, including 20pcs chicken wings. The portion of the loaded fries looked like it was have eaten as it was considerably small quantity. The chicken wings that was served was boneless. When I questioned it, one of the workers pointed out the table in menu that I missed to see. So I told her that it was bit confusing and I didn't realize I ordered boneless as I just wanted the regular wings.
When our waiter came by I asked her for take out containers for the left over chicken wings, which was more like chicken bites. The waiter said ok and walked away and then the manager walked up to the table. He made no introduction of who he was and just leaned over and started talking. He told me that they can't give me take out containers for the left over chicken wings that we had. He said we had half the plate left over and that it was about 1lb of wings. He said that the 1/2 price apps is dine in only and that we need to only order food that we will finish eating. I told him he can see from our bill we were not trying to cheat his restaurant, we ordered other food and just had leftovers. After arguing with him that we did not intentionally order extra food and that we had leftovers because the kids didn't want the boneless chicken wings, he agreed to let me take my leftovers home, which I was paying for anyways even if I was not allowed to take it home.
Finally the waitress brings the bill and she charged for 2 shots of grey goose. So my husband pointed out that he did not order grey goose and how could grey goose and smirnoff be the same price. The waitress said oh they are the same price but I can fix the bill and took it back. I followed her and explained that we ordered smirnoff and she said but I gave you kettle one shots. I said but that not what I ordered, so she asks me what do you want me to do. I said charge me for what i ordered, it's not my fault you mixed up my request. So she corrected the bill and as I was paying i said to her how much is it. She tells me the total and then asks how much was it previously, so I said it was about 3 dollars more. And she made a slight smirk at me.
I have never experienced such bad service or attitude from any restaurant that I have been to! The manager was rude, no professionnelism. We were there for about 2 hours with the kids and every time I needed her i had to get someone else to call her over as she didn't even come and check on us.
I will not be going back. This dinner was supposed to be a treat for our kids but we v were just so annoyed...
Read moreWe usually enjoy dining at this location but have had many disappointments in the past few months which prompts me to leave the following review: My Husband ordered the 10oz New York with loaded baked potato, I ordered the 6/7 oz sirloin with baked potato. Server was delightful and attentive. Absolutely no issues with her. Our food was delivered cold. Both potatoes were a dark yellow/brown colour, room temperature at best. Frozen/canned corn was cold. I’m not saying Luke warm, it was unpleasantly cold. Husbands steak was fine, mine tasted and had the texture of liver. We called attention to the server that dropped off the food and he promptly informed the Manager that had awkwardly listened in on our initial conversation with the server. We reluctantly opted for French fries and both steaks got cold while they brought out fries for both of us and yet more cold corn! Indicating they did not attempt to rectify the situation they had with temperature control in the kitchen. Let alone having an expediter insuring the temperature, accuracy, temperature and quality of food leaving the kitchen. The Manager did try to justify the potato quality as “that’s the way they all are”. and apologize for the service we were receiving… Pardon??? He then offered us a free dessert, which neither of us eat. At this point we just wanted to leave. The server spoke to the Manager and after doing so, she presented us the bill with a 50% discount. In conclusion, I repeat that we usually enjoy dining at this location. Food is quite reasonable especially in todays economy. The atmosphere is wonderful and the servers work hard to provide speedy and friendly service. The point I hope to have made, especially to Management is that there were a lot of apparent Managers on the floor especially where we were sat by the kitchen. Perhaps more focus would be better spent ensuring that food quality/ temperature is monitored and any issues found in the kitchen, corrected throughout each business day. I am certain that although Chuck’s is quite affordable, customers still require correct temperature and quality in the food the enjoy. Let alone, the safety aspect of this issue. I hope this...
Read moreParty of 4, long time regulars at Chucks, we come multiple times a month. On Sept 14, 10pm Manager Ravi tried to seat us right next to the front door even though the place had plenty of open tables. Weird, but we let it slide.
Then our server told us that each person needed to order one drink per appetizer for the 9pm deal. We had already ordered a drink, and explained we were going to order a main as well and 4 apps, something we'd done multiple times. We've never had this 1drink per app rule pushed on us at any location, and it's not written anywhere. Menu just says "drink purchase required" which we already did. This escalated to the manager since mandatory 4 drinks even though we were getting a main was not something we've ever had to do. We asked Manager Ravi to meet us in the middle, told him we're regulars, this isn't how it's been 100 times before and we'd order a second drink, plus a main with 4 apps. He refused. 1 drink per person for apps. 3 drinks if the person ordering the main isn't eating the apps. Said it's "policy". If it's policy why is it so inconsistently enforced? If it's policy, update your menu wording, enforce it in full and consistently, not when you feel like it.
Ultimately we walked out without ordering anything over one $4 drink. Ironically, Ravi ended up comping the one drink we had ordered, after we decided to leave and had asked for the bill. If he could comp it, why die on this hill? Demanding we must order 3 drinks when we'd order 2? Only to comp the one drink we did order...hello?
We've spent hundreds, most likely thousands here, bought hundreds in gift cards and just two weeks ago we had even bought another table a drink to get their attention - that's how often we and our friends/family are here. And for what it's worth that table wasn't getting apps.
But apparently, Ravi would rather stick to a random, inconsistently enforced rule than keep loyal customers, which we've clearly articulated to him. All over ONE $4 drink.
Congrats, you guys win. You guys don't want loyal customers, and we don't want the disrespect of being seated right at the front door in a room full of...
