Owner does not have a lot of experience. He is also the cook. I ordered a dish that needed to be returned. The waitress even looked and agreed. I agree with the other negative reviews. He should sell and get into another line of work. Don't go to this pub. I'm part of the community. Owners of other restaurants in the area have heard from other customers on having the same experience with this establishment. The owner replied and lied. It's actually the waitress replying because the owner/cook has a language barrier and the waitress told me that its very difficult for her to explain anything to him about food because he doesn't understand very well. I obviously didn't eat all the food if I had to return it. I returned the plate with 5 pieces of beef stew on it with very thick fat attached to two pieces and the other 3, I couldn't chew through the fat. ALL the mashed potatoes were left on the plate. I will attach a picture. That type of fat is never left on beef stew. It was so thick. I tried to cut it off, but it wouldn't cut through, obviously as you dont serve stew with a steak knife! A butter knife does not cut away that kind of fat on chewy beef. And, two of the wings WERE NOT cooked. They were rubbery and raw pink. Of course, I'm not going to eat raw chicken. They were soft and soggy. Normally, chicken wings are crispy on the outside. Even hot one's. And, I'm not there every month. I've only recently returned in the past couple months after not being there for a year. So, you're saying you treat repeat customers this way?? I didn't return food last month when i was there. When I returned the wings this week, I was hoping the waitress would have returned with them cooked longer. Then, she asked me if i returned food in the past because the owner remembered I did "once" one year ago because a new waitress at the time, whom was inexperienced got my order wrong, so i left. Not because there was anything wrong with the food, but it was because she got my order wrong. THEN, this time, the owner came out of the kitchen pointing his finger at my face. I was willing to pay, but since he startled me and told me to leave with his hand gestures near my face, I had no choice, but to leave. When someone comes walking out pointing their finger in a grown woman's face, you better believe I'm not staying! I asked the waitress what was going on and she was flustered because she has difficulty communicating and understanding him. You stating I have mental issues shows your character. Your projecting onto me because you don't want to get into trouble. This is not how you should be treating customers. Very unprofessional and this doesn't show good conduct or credibility for your business or our community. Suggesting a grown women whom supports businesses has mental issues shows your...
Read moreMy friend who lives in Pickering discovered Le Provencal European Bistro and she was excited to take me there. Wow what a treat! We were there for lunch and everything was delicious. Our food was freshly prepared using quality ingredients and elegantly served. Everything was perfect including the outstanding dessert and coffee. The friendly and professional service was just as delightful as the food. Where else can you enjoy a nice glass of wine in an intimate setting at a table adorned with a white tablecloth and napkins for an incredible price that is better than most take out establishments! Although I live in Orangeville, I look forward to returning to try their schnitzel weekend special! I was also very impressed to see the this restaurant is family run by a very sweet couple who generously donated to the Hospital for Sick Kids while we were there despite the fact that there restaurant is just starting up. Thank you for everything and we look forward to...
Read moreThis place has been under new ownership after all these years. We saw the ad and decided to check it out as we liked the food previously. The menu is the same, just the owner changed and some renos have been done. The waitress said she just started the day before, she was the only wait staff. She seemed flustered but did her best. The service to order was slow due to the lack of staff. The owners didnt seem to want to do any work and made her run around like a chicken without a head. The kitchen is the same and the food is the same as before. The food is good, the best wings in town. Price for food is pretty cheap here. We had 4 adults and some kids and our bill was about $100 with some beers, your not going to get that anywhere. Nice atmosphere. If the service was bumped up a notch, it would be a 5 star. Still a nice place to hang out. One of the better pubs...
