We were barely there a minute and an inebriated patron was loudly cursing out someone on his cell phone accusing them of cheating on them.
Then a server politely requested that he leave as his dog was left in the car with the air on and the windows up.
This turned into a huge debacle about her interfering with his rights and accusing others of joining in on a bandwagon effect against him. (No one had said a word.)
Awhile later, he finished his beer and left under protest, mentioning that other bars let him tie the dog to the bar, etc.
Once we could find a server again, (she kept vanishing outside all night), she recommended bar rails and shots. (We were dressed for dinner at a much nicer venue. Leaving then may have been a good idea!) I had to ask the server to translate.
The house wine was unknown. The "imported stuff" was Australian.
It was clearly a third-rate bar that catered to the factory/trades set.

Read moreThis place has been around for many years but this was my first time coming here. I'm not sure why it took me so long.
For COVID dining conditions, they have extended their patio into the parking lot, and have done it quite well. It's a spacious and clean dining area with umbrellas over each table.
I looked over their condensed menu, which included a selection of apps, sandwiches, and mostly lighter fare. I chose The Works burger, which included an 8oz beef patty, bacon, cheese, an onion ring, and pickles.
The assembled burger was nice and thick. I had to compress it to get it in my mouth! The flavour was actually quite good and it was juicy without dripping all over. It came with a ton of crispy skin-on fries! Good burger!
My server was very pleasant and friendly but she seemed to be the only server taking care of everybody. I don't know what the staffing situation was in the kitchen but my visit took an hour and a half. For a burger! That, to me, is not acceptable.

Read moreThis afternoon after a long strenuous hike through through the Rouge Valley we were spoiling for a burgerânot just any burger, but an EPIC burgerâand wandered over to the Ridges Pub for takeout. And, as always, they did not disappoint! They were a few minutes short of opening when I called but the kind woman who answered the phone cheerfully offered to fire up her grill and cook us two of the best burgers weâve ever had. Perfectly cooked, laden with toppings, and absolutely mouth-watering; every bite was a pleasure. Served with a mountain of fresh-cut fries, it was just the meal we wanted and needed after our hike, and satisfied the craving very nicely. I canât say enough good things about this gem of a pub on Liverpool Rd, nor about the warmth and hospitality of the wonderful owner. Itâll be my go-to pub going forward, and I canât wait to become a regular once life returns to normal post-lockdown! Thank you,...
